Hello Everyone, I had my surgery on May 29th and I have lost 80 lbs. Well I feel as if I should have done better. I know how crazy is that!!! I have a great Angel that tells me I am doing good (Thanks Courtney O.) however, we all know in our heads that we have goals that we want to reach by a certain time. My goal was to lose 100 by christmas....NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!! Courtney encourages me to come to the Sunday weigh in but at this point I have been too embarrassed to post my loss. I am happy about my loss just wi**** would have been more. Am I crazy or do we all have these days? Roxanne A.

Hi Roxanne! For me, crazy is always a good thing. Courtney is absolutely right! You've lost 80 pounds in less than 7 months. That's wonderful! I know it's hard not to compare your loss to others' losses. But, remember, we're all very different and we're going to lose at different rates. Some work out three hours a day and some work out three hours a week. lol Please do the Sunday weigh-in with us. You'll find the May family VERY supportive! I had good losses for a few weeks then just .4 last Sunday. I was so mad but I posted anyway. lol Join in and welcome to the May family!!! * Cyndi *

Roxanne, do not be afraid of this May group!! It is one of the most supportive groups on this site. I know that there are weeks that I have only lost 1 pound, but it is still a loss, so I meekly show up on Sunday to report even that small loss. I get the support and encouragement I need to keep me going. This group shares the highs and the lows without JUDGMENT of any kind!!!! YOU ARE DOING GREAT, YOU ARE LOSING AND GETTING HEALTHIER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gayle

ummmmm I had my surgery the same day as you and have lost 90 lbs.....so I do not see how you are slow......I even started heavier than you by 36lbs. I too had a goal of actually 100 pounds by 6 months wheich was at 88 and I wanted to be under 200 I am aorund 238 right now......ummmm nope not going to make it. Seems Courteny, you and I started around the same and are losing about the same so we are doing something right. I know that if I excerciese more I would pick up the pace and it is something I am working on....... come to the weigh in.....being held accountable will help! See you tomorrow! Donna

Roxanne~ I've told you 43598034 times...and I'll tell you once more...you are doing GREAT! I know it's hard not to compare yourself to me (and others) because you think I'm doing so much better (I'm NOT!)...I just had a lot more to lose to start with!! I compare myself to a lot of these girls (and guys) on this board who are already well into onderland and almost to their goals after only 6 months. I'm NOWHERE close to my goal yet...and still have 42 lbs to get to Onederland. It seems SO far away. WE WILL GET THERE! You, sooner than I, and I'm okay with that--lol. Just keep doing what you're doing...and it will happen. I'll call you tomorrow when I wake up! Maybe we can go do something in the evening since we're both off. Let me know ma'am. Oh yeah, and I better see you posting your loss for the week on the Sunday weigh-in tomorrow. (Cuz I know your secret...and I know how often you weigh yourself...lol)

Roxanne, I agree with so much of what has been said. This board is one of the most supportive I've seen. ANYONE who wants to post is welcome and especially new people who may have just found us....YOU ARE WELCOME. We are not an exclusive club and welcome any Mayster to post. You are doing great. The difference will be if you keep focused or not and it seems like you will be. Those who make it to goal are the ones who plug along. Even more importantly is if you are making the necessary changes in your eating habits to sustain long-term success. There was a great thread over on the RNY board in the past day or so that talked about weight gain after goal. It is a must read and will give you a proper perspective. So.....join us. John
