This stall is finally broken
Chantal,
Actually, I thought she would be a bit more proud of me. In reality, she rather just ignores the whole idea of it....and I'm okay with that. When I met Christine we were both very thin. We met and found that food was one interest that we both had in common. Some of my fondest early dating memories were focused around learning to Chinese cook. It was food that I had always wanted to learn to prepare. We did that cooking by trial and error and we ate our mistakes along the way. We actually got pretty good at it. To this day, we still serve guests our primary dishes that always get raving reviews.
So anyway, when I decided to do this WLS, I had to tell her that I needed to distance myself from her eating habits (our past shared habits). I didn't do this in a negative way, but I think it offended her. All though our married life if she at something, I would eat that too. That was a habit that I knew I needed to break. Now I have no problem with that and we do eat very differently. I do all of the shopping and I constantly try to get her things that I think she will like. If she doesn't, the kids will scarf anything that we give them the green light to attack.
I'm really hoping that after the first of the year (Jan 2008), we get more on the same page with the weight thing. This summer we were walking together and really eating well. Then she kind of started heading upward. She jokes about eating her way to the surgery, but I hope that is what it is...just a joke.
Overall, I've got a great life and I'm loving it now more than ever.
Thanks for the support and keep up the great work yourself.
John
