My 4 Month Surgiversary!
Today's my 4 month surgiversary and I'm a little melancholy today. Last night at dance, the mom of the director took me aside and said "what the heck have you been doing? You're so SKINNY!". Now, I thought EVERYONE at class knew I had had surgery. I love this lady. She's just a few years older than me and was my front instructor when I was in marching band in high school. She was afraid to ask for fear my breast cancer "scare" 2 years ago became a reality.
I told her what I did, proudly showed her my scar (which is looking great and fading quite nicely) and told her all about my new life. She was so happy and demanded the name, number and everything about my surgeon. Another mom at dance had another surgeon but same practice. She asked all the right questions. I told her what we give up (very little) but would YOU trade a cheesesteak for 80 pounds off your bod in 4 months? I wouldn't either.
I was looking at the pics taken the night before my surgery and wondered how the hell I let myself get like that. But, then I sit here in my t-shirt and brand new size 16 Hanes workout pants (no sweats this time!), dying to take my kid to school so I can take a 4.5 mile walk today, and I'm so darned thankful that I found OH, found my wonderful May surgery family, and found that I CAN be healthy, I CAN lose the weight, I CAN live long enough to be a great mom. I CAN do anything I want to do now!
So, thank you to all of you! When the family wasn't very cooperative (well, the *D*H), I knew I could come here and find all the support and motivation I could ever need. Thanks to my May family, and working my tool right, I hit -80 lbs. this morning. I feel so good and so blessed. How could I ever keep my mouth shut about a miracle like this?
I hope you all have a great day! I'm gonna celebrate my surgiversary!!!!!

Awwww....thanks so much Holly! I celebrated by walking my 3.5 miles in 55 minutes! I was so excited! I can't wait to go to support group tomorrow night. I'm normally a little, well, hyper, but I just can't wait to see them! I should put all this energy to use and get my yard all Halloweened! lol Where did I put my jigsaw????
Enjoy your day too Holly!!!

Hi Cyndi,
You deserve to be bowed down to , I am so proud of you and you should be so proud of yourself. We have had our ups and downs but I consider you family and I will always be here for you if you ever need me.
Keep up the great work. You were, are and will always be "BEAUTIFUL".
Love and Hugs,
Esther
Thank you so much Esther! I'm just happy I can get on the floor and back off it now without the assistance of a chair or sofa.
We had a business lunch today at Applebee's and the GM there remembered it was my surgiversary! LOL He graduated me to a big girl glass of unsweetened tea and a nice pile of Splenda. lol It was the best kid's grilled chicken sandwich minus the bun. lol The people we were meeting with asked what the deal was and I happily told them I had the surgery. The looked at me like I had 30 minutes left to live! I told them how happy I am now and that I was down 80 lbs. and now I'm living not just existing. lol They were too funny to me.
I guess folks know something's up because I've been all day! I love my RNY!!!!!

I love my RNY too and I get the weirdest compliments like, have you been sick, you have lost so much weight and then when I tell them I had RNY they get this weird look on their faces like I should order my coffin. I tell them I had the surgery to be able to live a long healthy life.
OH WELL, we know we did the right thing and we are happy about it.
YOU are incredible.
Hugs,
Esther
