WOW ARE MY CLOTHES BIG
Okay, so I have been in some serious denial about not looking any smaller. I've been wearing my same old clothes from before WLS. Granted they seem "a little" baggy & the underwear very saggy, but I haven't been able to bring myself to spend money (that I don't really have) on a new wardrobe. Especially since I am not finished losing weight yet. Well, it's cool/rainy in Western NY today & I am working second shift tonight. So, I thought I better wear some jeans. OMG I tried on these 22 non-stretch jeans I bought last winter & they are SOOOO huge! I tried on a 20 Just My Size stretch & they were big too! What a wake up call for me. I am going to have to buy a few things this weekend, a few smaller things. I guess this is my first big wow moment!
Isn't that a great feeling?! I got teased by some ladies at work a couple of weeks ago because my clothes were too big. I took that a sign to go buy a few things. I found a Salvation Army that has some great stuff...a lot of it still has the tags on it. That and the clothes in my closet that used to be too small have helped be from breaking the bank!
Congrats on such a great Wow moment!
April,
If you haven't shopped at Goodwill, you haven't lived. I know that some folks find it too humbling to go to Goodwill and Salvation Army, but our family (including 5 kids) has been very smartly dressed for years from clothing that is second-hand. Treat yourself and head on over for some fun shopping. You can use other people's money to make yourself look great and help out a good cause along the way.

Hi April,
I was doing the same thing and no one really said anything here at work because I was wearing my same (only baggy) clothes. I didn't want to spend any money on clothes because I still have more to lose so I went to a cheap place called Susie's Deals and got some tops for $5.00 each that fit and wore them to work and got so many compliments that it make me want to eat even less so I went to a thrift store and bought several outfits that fit and also some yard sales and got a few things.
We need the compliments to boost our egos and keep us thinking thin instead of fat so go out and get some cheap things so you will feel good about your accomplishments. It sure helped me.
Hugs,
Esther
We have several thrift stores in town. I've never been a fan of them partly because they seem so disorganized. I'm not really a shopper type person either, so it's much easier on me to head to the rack w/ all the sizes & prices clearly marked @ a dept. store. However, my plan is to hit them all over the weekend. I have to do it. I looked @ Wal*Mart for jeans this afternoon, but refuse to pay $25.00 for temporary jeans. Thanks to everyone for your support & suggestions.
