Grateful
I saw this on another board and thought it was a great idea so I'm stealing it
Seems to be a good conversation starter.
What are you Grateful for today??
I am grateful for:
My 52 pound loss (even though I'm STILL not in onderland )
My increased self confidence
Being able to afford a trainer- even for just a little while
Everyone in my life (even the virtual ones ) who has supported me since beginning on my WLS journey.
Happy Monday All!
Kathy
I'm grateful that I was chosen to have this surgery. I say "chosen" because most of the people who live here in Kansas have BC/BS of Kansas which typically excludes WLS out of their policies. I was fortunate that my wife works for a Fortune 500 company that has the more assertive BC of California in dealing with this issue. Hundreds of people will die as a result of this policy...just so Kansas BC/BS can brag how cheap thier insurance coverage is to their potential customers.
I'm grateful for a great family
...for having a job that I jump out of bed for in the morning...teaching 5th graders
...that while I have lost 100 pounds, my wife has also lost over 60 pounds in the past 1 1/2 years...this is so much easier as a team.
...that I have such a wonderful group of pretty and handsome friends here at OH....and as a bonus....they keep getting prettier and more handsome as the months go by...
I guess I'm pretty grateful for actually getting healthier on my 45th birthday instead of heading down the short road toward a premature death from diabetes related complications.

Hmmm....
1. I'm grateful that, despite everything the doctors said for 26 years, I *was* able to have a child.
2. I'm grateful that that child is my biggest cheerleader.
3. I'm grateful for a wonderful surgeon with a great sense of humor.
4. I'm grateful that I am quickly getting rid of the pain that has been in these knees for 20 years next month. Losing this weight has been wonderful for them!
5. I'm grateful for the 67 lbs I've lost during this journey!
6. I'm VERY grateful for my OH family who has supported me when my RL family (excluding the munchkin!) hasn't.
That's my short list.

Kathy,
I'm grateful for...you! For posting this to make me stop and think for a minute. Sure I've been happy lately - wallowing in it actually - but haven't stopped to thank the folks who helped along the way.
Except for one...I saw my PCP Monday. It's been a month and when she walked in she stopped in her tracks and told me to turn around. Then she said "you have no butt!" Well, that's relatively true if not absolutely true but nice to hear anyway. I told her how grateful I am for her guidance, getting me to this point and then helping make it happen. Actually brought the camera and had the nurse take a pic of the two of us which will be on my blog shortly.
Other than that, I am grateful for...
My wife is in the gym and it's making gains beating her fibromyalgia back into submission. So she's happier, in much less pain, and we can get out of the house and do things together.
That I've been given a career opportunity and am in a place in my life where I can focus on it.
That I can fit comfortably into an airplane seat - even on the toy jets like an Embraer 3-across.
That I can buy jeans on sale for $15 at Wal-Mart, Target and the warehouse stores. (The Size 50's were $45 on sale at the Big & Tall.)
That my in-laws live next door. (Did I type that or just think it? Never thought I'd see myself type *that*!!!) Being far apart was stressing everyone out. Now we all take care of each other.
That my family are healthy and happy. My kids both have diabetes but are taking care of themselves without parental supervision. They are in their 20's but we had our doubts for a while. My in-laws are still doing great and the new grandson is about to have his first birthday this Halloween.
And most of all, I'm grateful for good friends who have provided support and understanding when I've needed it and accepted the same when I was able to give it.
Got to go...I'm getting misty.
