Hi Friends, I am depressed because I am a standstill and the scales won't budge. I am even scared to eat anything because if the scales go up I will really freak. Have any of you been at a standstill? I want to get to Onederland so badly but I am feeling discouraged. Any advise on how to get the weight to go down again? Hugs, Esther

I can't believe it took this long for your standstill!!! I had about 7 days where my weight bounced up and down 1.5 lbs. Then, all of a sudden, on day 8 the scale was down 2 lbs. I think you're going through that adjustment time. It'll start again!!! Hang in there. It is totally frustrating. * Cyndi *

Thank you Cyndi, that makes me feel better to know I am not alone. It is just frustrating when you are eating next to nothing and the weight stays the same. It ****** me off. I know I have to be patient but I just want to be under 200 for once. It's nice to know I have friends like you that I can talk to. Hugs, Esther

Hi Esther, First of all I want to say a BIG CONGRATS FOR YOUR 50LB LOST!!! I understand your frustration on standstills with weight loss. But dont let it get you down. Even though u might be on a standstill, you are still loosing inches. I talk from experience. For me, every 20lbs I loose, I plateo for about a week to two weeks. But I can still loose inches. Remember, our bodys are trying to adjust to the rapid changes. One thing that works for me when I come to a standstill, I go back to the very basics of food. I drink one or two protein shakes a day, (protein shakes by health wise, taste great!) and I always excersise. That gets me going again. Please hang in there. you are well on your way to Onederland!!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!! HUGS TINA

Thank you Tina, I guess I am just getting too impatient. I feel my clothes getting baggy and I know I must be losing inches but I just want to see that scale move. I keep forgetting that our bodies have to adjust to the weight loss. Thanks for the tip and I think I will start with the two shakes a day and one piece of meat at night and see if that will get me going again. Thank you for the encouragement. It really helps. Hugs, Esther

Don't get yourself down Esther! We all have stalls! You'll get through it! I would make sure you are eating, though- don't want your body going into starvation mode! When I had a stall it was because I wasn't drinking enough or getting my protein in like I should have. Maybe that is the issue with you as well?? Hope it doesn't last long- you'll be back on the wagon in no time! Kathy

Thanks Kathy, You reminded me of something....I really haven't been drinking the water like I should and that may be why I have stopped losing. Thanks for the reminder. I guess I just need a kick in the pants every once in a while. Hugs, Esther

I am trying to hang in there. I am just going to stay off the scale for a few weeks. Thank you for being there for me. Hugs, Esther

Don't get discouraged, it happens to pretty much everyone. I stalled for about 2 weeks. Then the weight starting coming off again steadily. I've only been losing about 2lbs a week, but still its a steady loss. The scale will start moving again. Just keep doing what you're doing and you will be fine. I was scared to eat too in fear that the scale would start to creep back up, but then someone pointed out, that part of the problem could be that i am not eating enough. So I upped my calorie intake for a day or so, and the scale started moving again. It's strange, but sometimes you have to eat more to weigh less. I think that my body was in starvation mode so it was holding onto as much as it could. Once I put a little more food in my mouth, it started moving again. So keep your head up, the weight will start coming off again.
