spent the day int he ER again
Deb,
Actually I take Calcium Citrate....order it from Bariatric Advantage....thing is I admit that I have not been the best about taking my supplements until when all this started. Actually myurologist said that usually in RNY patients if you are getting stones they start you on calcium.....something to to with malabsorbtion and having somthing in your system that conteracts that but adding the Calcium Citrate rather than carbonate conterats that. I had written down I take them 3 times a day and then he said "Oh, well I was going to say we would start you on Calcium but I see here you already take it three tiems a day which usually works so we will have to analyse your stones and see what is causing them" So I had to be honest and admit I jsut got good at taking them up to three times a day. I will be better about it now!!!!!
I also take Pepcid twice a day. And everytime my surgeon tells me I can stop taking it I have something else come up that he tells me to go back to taking it so I have decided to take that for awhile LOL!
Ouch Salivary stone sounds painful!!!!!
Tomorrow I go in for the surgical removal of all the stones in the left kidney and a stent in place to make sure the fragments pass. Then I am hoping my dr has a plan to keep them from forming after that!!!!!
Donna
Is it me or the calcium thing is a confusing, ie,

Anyways, good luck Donna, wishing you a speedy recovery!
Deb
yes, well I hope to get more answers once they analyze the stones and find out what is causing them.....I guess the point I was trying to make is I am taking the "right" type of calcium....citrate versus carbonate however I am not real good about complying. But if that is what will fix it I will LOL!
