I'm Still In Shock!
So, I went clothing shopping today for this Orlando thing next week. I had to buy "business casual" clothes because they wouldn't accept MY business casual.....jeans, shorts and t-shirts. The day before surgery I was happy in my size 26 jeans from Fashion Bug. Now I look like the Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies cover in those. Anywho......the sales lady decides I'm about an 18-20 pants. I put them on and both promptly fell off. I got size 16 pants and size 14 tops. I almost passed out. I had to get a fancy outfit for an awards ceremony. So, I got a 16 long mermaid skirt (never thought I'd wear one of those!) and a size 14 glittery top and jacket. I told Mark he HAS to take pics of me in every outfit. I also got a size 14 dress. I was so excited that EVERYONE in the store knew I had my RNY. I LOVE MY RNY!!!!! I was just so shocked and my daughter sat there speechless. She's 10 so speechless is NOT a common thing for her.
So, that's my HUGE wow moment! Now I'm heading for 199. When that happens, I'll be passed out on the floor. LOL

Ha! I love it! Glad to hear someone else is telling everyone about the surgery. Do you find lots of other people who have had it? The lady behind the counter at my local passport office turned out to be the 16th person in the US who had the some version of the surgery. She explained the procedure to me and it was similar to the RNY but predated it. I forget the official name of the procedure. Great story, though. After something like 25 or 30 years, she still carries her "fat photo" around and looks marvelous. And I've run into lots of others who've had a surgery of some sort. Finding them is half the fun. Sometimes I sit in the airpor****ching humanity file past and playing "who's the bypass patient?"
Thanks everyone! It's funny because I'm VERY vocal about my RNY. A mom asked me Tuesday night if I was okay because I've lost so much weight since the dance recital in early June. I told her and she was so happy for me. Other people ask LOTS of questions because they've thought about it. Even my mom, who sees me at least 3 times a week, was shocked when she saw the sizes I bought. I'm currently designing a couple RNY shirts that I plan to wear to make people feel more comfortable about wondering if I'm okay.
Even though I've complained enough about this Orlando trip, I'm so happy I'll look "normal" and not like a big old whale at this conference. It was nice to get some fashionable clothes and not "big girl" clothes. So, when I'm hanging with the hot shots of Dell, Lexmark, HP, Microsoft, etc., etc., I won't want to hide because I'm the largest chick in the room. I won't be this time! LOL
