caloric intake?

I think that Ashley is right on with the calorie recommendations. I have seen more of the 500-800 as a caloric target across the board with many doctors.
I also use fitday.com and highly recommend it. I really like having the piece of mind of knowing my calorie intake and especially the protein intake at the end of the day. I try to get between 75-90 grams of protein as a man's portion.
While I liked the free web-based version of fitday.com, I REALLY like the one I purchased for $20 from them. They will not try very hard to sell you the purchased version, but I found that it is so very far superior. Plus, you can get your money back if you don't like it. Between that and my digital scale, those are the two best investments I've made since having my surgery.
