Has hair loss started for anyone yet?
I know it usually hits at 3-3.5 mos and I have bee keeping a very close eye on it in recent weeks. I am noticing more hairs coming out when I shampoo, but otherwise, I've been throwing my hair up in a bun to avoid having to brush and straighten it every day. I just read some hairloss posts on the April 2007 board and it really got me nervous!
I *was* taking biotin right after surgery, I should maybe start it up again. Hairloss is the thing I've been dreading the most this whole time...I keep thinking that maybe I'll be spared
I started losing my hair the day I got home from the hospital, but thankfully I have so much and it's really thick, that you can't really tell that at all. I take Biotin every day, but I've heard that it helps with the regrowth only, and doesn't stop you from actually losing hair. I get all my protein and vitamins in, so hopefully this will stop eventually

I have hair loss but I too am lucky to have SOOOOO much hair! I don't mind a little thinning the only thing I do mind is that fact that its all over everything. Hair loss is not really a big concern of mine. I know that from anesthesia you can lose your hair and so I'm not sure what I'm at. My Dr said around 6 months is when your hair will start falling out from not having enough protein. Who knows really lol.

I'll add to the thick hair club. But, remember, putting hair in buns and ponytails constantly pulls on it. That can add to the hair loss. Thank goodness my best friend is a hair stylist. She said all the biotin, protein, etc., won't necessarily stop the process. She said it's the quick body changes and the rapid weight loss. She started researching that as soon as I started researching WLS. I usually wear my hair in a high ponytail (I want it out of the way!) but she said doing a long, loose braid puts less stress on it. I did notice a bit coming out this morning but with this thick mess, I see it all the time. I'm not sure if mine is surgery related or not.
But, she keeps joking that if I let her cut it into a bob again maybe I'll hit 199. ;) I was 209 this morning. LOL Hmmmm.........

i was losing hair before due to polycystic ovarian syndrome. and it is still coming out. maybe i should try the biotin. can you get it at gnc or the vitamin shoppe? i used to have super-thick hair and now its pretty thin, you can see my scalp if it parts when i put it in a ponytail. i don't want to be thin and bald!!
