I'm here, I'm here!! I've been blogging on my profile, but been a little quiet on the boards lately. But I'm here and doing well. I had a run in with a bagel the other day that turned out badly. I just wanted to try some bread so badly. And then spent the next three hours paying for it with the foamies. I miss chat too...can we get that goin again?? I'm sure everyone is busy with the summer...maybe a different day is better? I'd be willing to organize- when is good?? Hope you all are doing well. Happy 4th of July to all! Kathy

It's great to hear from you Kathy. I love bagels, but all bread no matter what the kind has made me sick so far. I've given up on trying. It's amazing but I really don't miss it, probably because the last couple of experiences have been so yuck. Oh we definitely need to set up some chat sessions! Those were so fun, so helpful. Maybe weekday nights would be easier for the summer, since a lot of us have more energy to enjoy the weekends We should get crackin' on that...

That's intersting. I had my surgery on May 31. I'm doing very well. Nothing has bothered me so far. I had 1/4 of a bagel today with some salmon spread. I love the fact that I'm just never hungry. It's amazing. I'm truly eating to live, not living to eat.

Hey everyone...I just sent Chantal a message back--Thanks for checkin on me! I'm doing fine....................just not doing everything I should be doing. I'm low on fluids, calories, and protein most of the time. I have NO desire to eat for the most part--I usually have to force myself. Sometimes I can only force a few small bites and I have to stop--I just feel stuffed. Sometimes I can eat more than others...just depends on whether or not my pouch is grumpy. I can't eat bread in any form. I've tried whole wheat tortillas, whole wheat toast/bread, and whole wheat pasta...........it's a no go on all of them--I throw up EVERYTIME. I don't even try anymore...and I'm pretty much okay with that. The only time I have trouble is if I'm out and about and on the go--I haven't found anything I can stop and grab or really take with me. I get burnt out on foods really easily. I got burnt out on string cheese after eating it a couple times a day for a couple weeks. I can't stand protein shakes........but I still don't mind 1% milk w/ NSA carnation instant breakfast. Lots of vitamins and stuff--just not a whole lot of protein. I'm working on getting better at everything...........but I never thought It'd be this much of a struggle to make myself eat and drink. Okay.....that's all I have to say for now---lol. Hope everyone else is doing well! Courtney

Hang in there Courtney. You and I seem to be in the same club. I'm having to force feed myself too. My husband and I go to lots of business meetings and they're always at Applebee's. I just sip my tea. It's horrible. One meal I can take a bite and just feel yuck and the next I just head back to my trusty Banana Cream pudding (2 oz of course lol). I can't even stand to look at food most of the time. I can't get protein shakes down at all. I just keep dumping flavor packs (not Crystal Lite ICK!!!!) in my water bottles. I have a friend who got so sick of water that she was actually shoving a Flintstones Chewable in for taste. LOL Is it the whole wheat that's making you ill? Honestly, I make good old San Giorgio pasta for the family and that sits okay for me. Granted, it's just a couple rigatonis or something, but it feels fine in the ol' pouch. My hubby had his appendix out yesterday morning (only he would pull that) and I ended up sitting at the hospital eating 2 oz of Corn/Wheat Chex cereal every 3 hours. LOL I put them in little snack bags. It wasn't the yummiest but the surgeon he had told me nutrition is nutrition. He was happy I had the surgery (he's done other surgeries on me) and told me as long as something is going in.....and staying in.....I was gonna be just fine. Wow, I'm wordy today. So, Courtney, baby, hang in there! It's gotta get better! * Cyndi *

Thanks for the updates everyone I've never done the chatroom thing here but I'd be willing to give it a try. Welcome Donna, I'm glad you found your way here. I found some whole wheat protein tortilla's and had one yesterday. 5gm of protein and lower sugar/no fat. It was onion flavored. It went down ok. The turkey dogs from last night were a little iffier tho. Oscar meyer brand 40 cals 99% fat free. I think I may have have scarfed them down too fast. erving Size 50g Servings per Container about 8 Amount Per Serving Calories 40 Calories from Fat 0 % Daily Value* Total Fat 0g 2 % Saturated Fat 0g 0 % Trans Fat 0g Cholesterol 15mg 5 % Sodium 470mg 20 % Total Carbohydrate 3g 1 % Sugars 1g Protein 5g

Patti, I found vegetarian dogs at the grocery store, they had all kinds of flavours and I got the spicy ones. They're actually really good and the ones I got have 15g of protein. I can't do any breads, no matter what it is. Which I'm completely fine with by now. We should figure out when to chat! Does Monday work for anyone? That or maybe Wednesday, since it's the middle of the week.
