Weight loss for the Mayers!
Hi gang! I can't believe it but I'll be four weeks out tomorrow. I've lost 36 lbs from my highest and about 29 lbs since surgery. I start my Stage 4 diet tomorrow. I had a half slice of toast this morning with some I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. That tasted fantastic and I've had no trouble with it at all. I don't dare try regular bread since I know about those dough balls. lol
We're all doing so great! I'm going to hook up my webcam and take a new face picture. The one I have here is like 18 months old. LOL

Hi Esther. I swear everything BAD for me stays down. lol I just grabbed a piece of plain old Wonder bread and tossed it in the toaster. My dog loved the other half of the toast. I still would rather eat pudding but I know that chapter has to close soon. lol
Looks like all the Mayers are doing great!

hi jamie....well so far i'm starting on my 6th week and lost 28 lbs but i seem to be losing more inches anyway which is more important as far as i'm concerned...now what are foamies? is that what happens when you want to puke but can't and instead just get all that saliva build up in your mouth? i've gotten that a few times....i'm not a puking type though..couldn't do it if i tried...lol some days i can eat more than others...last night i actually ate a pizza topping off a real slice of pizza without a problem! i was in heaven! lol chicken makes me kind of ill....i've had a little bit of ground beef without too much of a problem except the little burps and hiccups which crack everyone up.... no no foods seem to settle with me better than the crap we're supposed to eat...go figure...lol
lizzie
Hey Lizzie,
Yep that's what the foamies are...but I call it the slime-ers....it's more slime and it's disgusting. I puke with NO problem and sometimes when I think it's a hiccup it's not. I've been having a lot more hiccups lately and get full VERY fast, nerves must be healing. My surgeon at this point says to eat anything that agrees with me within reason or I'm headed for a feeding tube that I hook up to at night for nutrition. NO THANKS!
Take care!!
Jamie
Hi Jamie,
I am so sorry that you are having alot of trouble. but you are doing a great job with your weight!! i know it will get better. sometimes it takes a long time (soRRY to HAVE to say this) for our bodies to get use to our new plumbing.. but you hang in there!!!
i am 9 weeks post opt (almost) and have lost 42 lbs. i have went from a size high 26/28 to pants size 22 and tops size 18/20.. i am really happy!!
best wishes,
TINA
I am 7 weeks out and am down 32 pounds since surgery but am down 146 since June 1st of 2006. I am off my BP meds, mostly off my fluid pill for my Lymphedema, and have had pretty much no trouble since the surgery on the 7th of May. I am having a little trouble with my potassium level but all other blood work was great they said.
Jamie,
I am so sorry to hear that things are not going well for you!! Do the protein shakes stay down??? I noticed with me that I can not have anything cold in the morning. I have to eat a banana and room temperature water to get my vitamins in. But at night, it has to be REALLY cold water. I know I'm strange but it works for me.
I am 7 weeks out as of yesterday and I'm down 31 pounds since surgery plus 15 pre-op for a total of 46 pounds.
Hugs,
Heather
Hi everyone! I am 6 weeks out this week and I have lost 39 pounds and a total of 15 inches! I am so happy! I wish I could eat more though! It seems like just about every time I try the next new thing up it comes and then I can't eat again for a few hours if at all. Then I go back to the old stand bys of pureed foods. I should be past this stage of pureed by now, but I always seem to gravitate back to it!
