Hi All, I am REALLY TRYING TO BE PATIENT, but I'm over 4 weeks out and still on down 18lbs! I keep telling myself that I didn't get like this overnight, so I shouldn't expect to lose it overnight and slow is better, BUT....I was 15lbs down when I got my JP Tube out on 4-Jun-07! 3 lbs in 2 weeks?!?!?! I know 18lbs in 4 weeks is good, but I guess I thought it would be quicker with the surgery! Please help me regain my composure! Also, I just went back to work yesterday and feel like I wa**** by a truck! SOOO TIRED!! I don't know how some of you went back 1-2 weeks out! Thanks all! Nanci

UGH! I just realized it's even worse than I originally thought! I was down 15lbs on 29-May-07, not 4-Jun! I got my dates wrong! That means 3lbs in 3 weeks! HELP! Nanci

Nanci! Don't be so hard on yourself! It's completely normal for weight-loss to slow down significantly right about now. Your body is trying to figure out what the heck you're doing still. I *promise* it will get better soon, just keep doing what you are doing and you're body will catch up. And put the scale away! It won't help to obsess about it. And the working...I was taking 2-3hr naps every day after work for the first week and a bit, I was exhausted! That too has gotten much better. Hang in there, you're doing just fine!

Thanks Chantel and Liz! I needed that! Logically, I know this, but it is frustrating and I think I was just having a really bad day! My clothes are definitely fitting looser and I am doing my best to only get on the scale once a week! (it's hard, but I'm trying! ). Going back to work has been really hard and I am already feeling run down and it's only Wednesday! I try to relax when I get home, but my two boys ages 2 & 5 don't make it easy! My husband recently started a new job and I'm home with the boys a bit after work before he gets home! UGH! They're great though and I know I'm blessed so I'll be fine! Thanks again for letting me vent and your words of wisdom! Nanci

ya know nancy...don['t even pay attention to the scale...it's how your clothes are fitting you now...i'd rather lose inches than weight....i know exactly what you mean...it's been almost 5 weeks for me and i've only lost like 27 lbs....but my clothes are hanging alot better on me now...if youre feeling rundown just take in more protein....veggie juice seems to help too....good luck

Hi Nanci, I know what you mean. I am 4 weeks out also and I hit the grand plateau. I also lost weight before surgery and that can slow you down too. I heard last night at the Barix support group that a three week plateau is actually common! What a relief. Say, you do know you can come to the Barix meetings too don't you (here in PA)? Anyone looking at or who has had WLS can go. You and I live pretty close if you ever want to ride with me, let me know. You can send me an email. Jan

Hi Jan, I would LOVE to join you at one of the Barix support meetings. That's the one thing I miss about not having my surgery at Barix...you guys are like one big happy family. The program I went through, while absolutely wonderful, is still very small and new, so there is little on-line support. They have monthly support meetings, but I don't feel like I'd know anyone. At least I'm meeting Barix people on these message boards! Regarding the WL, I am doing a bit bettter, not as frustrated. My clothes are looser and I'm not getting on the scale as often (which is difficult, but keeping me saner! ). I'll send you a personal message with my cell phone number so we can connect personally! Thanks again! Nanci
