I don't know how to ask this.....

Did anyone get told how long before you could be intimate again? I got told not to lift anything heavy and not to take tub baths, but that was it. I am too embarassed to call the docs office to ask, so I hope someone can give me some info. My hubby has been very patient, but did ask me on fathers day, it has been 4 weeks since my surgery which was the lap RNY.

See, all of our surgeons vary greatly! I had open RNY and he told me I could at about 5 weeks out. I told him thanks but no thanks. Hubby didn't hear so I have a reprieve as long as I want. * Cyndi *

I had RNY - was told 4 weeks... life has been fine since June 5th, lol!

I had lap rny on May 18, but then emergency hernia op on May 22, so doc said that makes it now an open. Anyhoo, we were able to be intimate after about two weeks and have been so almost every day since. At the risk of being too frank, the position can make a difference, so you may want to be, um, "creative". Have fun!

Hey Michelle, I was a month out a day before Father's Day so that was my husband's gift. While I didn't have to wait 4 weeks (was given the ok as soon as I felt up to it) I waited anyway...been so damn tired plus no sex drive really. Anyway...if you feel up to it I'd say HAVE FUN! If you don't, there's other things you can do to make him go wild. We did a lot of those other things after my c-section and complications thereafter...5 months of no sexual intercourse but he wasn't hurting. Take care!! Jamie
