too much or not?
I am concerned that I am eating too much. I am losing and I believe I am okay with calories but it seems like I eat more quantity than most. I don't really snack but my main meals are larger than I expected. I am cleared to eat anything that agrees with me and have only had trouble with chicken thus far. Today's menu, breakfast was a cheese stick, lunch was 1/2 cup tuna with low-fat havarti cheese about 3 slices, dinner was a filet of grilled whitefish and a cut-up cucumbers with vinager . Yesterday, I had a small chili from wendy's and about half of a plain baked potatoe. The other day, I went for sugar free ice cream with a WLS friend and ate one whole scoop and she took 3 days to finish. I hadn't ate anything in the last three hours but should I be able to hold that much. My friend surgery was only two weeks after mine. I had two protein shots daily totaling 120 calories and 30 grams of protein. I listen to my body and stop before I get uncomfortable. Is this too much? Dinner is about 1.5 cups. how many calories is ideal? Could my pouch be too big? My doctor did not define meals to well. there are samples but mainly for the other stages. I am probably eating more out of habit than hunger, but I was told it was worst to skip meals. I am a newbie but I will take any advice coming.
i don't think so....youre eating alot healthier than i am....i hate fish and i eat about 2-3 slices of thinly sliced american cheese for a meal...i mean youre putting good calories in, it's not like youre eating crap....i've been eatin smartones dinners even thought it takes me like 2 days to eat half a one....lol tell me...are you eating any red meat yet? i'm dying! lol
Tiffany,
I can eat more then I should also. I worry that I am stretching my pouch but I chew chew chew but I can eat quite a lot before I feel I should stop and I don't get sick. I can eat a large chili from Wendy's and not get sick.
I wasn't really told a specific size meal and never met with a nutricianist so I am just guessing. My weight has stopped going down so today I am going back on liquid protein to see if I can get the weight to go down again.
ANY ADVISE IS WELCOME HERE TOO!
Hugs,
Esther
I feel like I can eat too much too. But I talked to my dietician and she said that since I'm eating things like cottage cheese and chili, 1/2 cup (which is generally the amount I eat) isn't too much and that I could really only stretch my pouch if I seriously abused it, which I don't think I'm doing.
I weighed myself this morning and I had put on 2 pounds since Saturday morning! How crazy is that? I know there's no way in the world I could have put on 2 pounds so I'm just chalking it up to the vagaries of my new body.
