Hi, Im Suzanne, in Spokane. I'm really having a hard time not losing weight. Im staying in my range, doing everything right and just not losing. Im getting frustrated. Preop appt was 213 on May 5.. surgery May 7.. Now its June 13 and i weigh 198. Also, I have hunger. (was told i wouldnt have hunger) And I moved along much faster than most of you on what I could eat. (after a week, could eat ground chicken on crackers, etc).. then I hit 1 month..and that same thing started making me sick. Wierd how that works..fine one day, same thing makes you horribly ill the next. Since i got sick, its been really hard to get the fluids down. I know im dehydrated..feel it. Ive been lucky to get 16 to 20 oz in. (again, was doing fine, until i got sick on water a couple times) Anyway.. glad i found the site.. hope to hear from you. Suzanne

Suzanne, I had my surgery 5-23, started 215.1 now 195.5, i went through about 5-6 days without loosing anything, but I have started loosing again, by what I have heard from others this is a normal happen. you will start looking again. Me too, some foods i eat one day i can not eat the next, i never know, it is also hard for me to get my fluids down, i have been sipping a work and having everyone remind me to sip.Plain water It is very hard to get down it wants to come back up, so later in the morning i have been using crystal light or Wyler's Sugar free, the smoothness helps.

You have done a great job. How much weight do you want to lose? I went through 2 weeks with only losing 4 lbs ..it was 2 lbs on each week. Hang in there. I have started losing again as I'm sure you will too. Everyone is so different! I know what you mean about being hungry. When I get hungry I ask myself 1. should I be hunger 2. am I thirsty? 3. Am I just bored? and that normally helps me identify if I'm truly hungary or if its in my head kwim? Get in as much water/fluids that you can..that is very important to flushing out the fat! ~Hugs~ Rebecca

Hi Suzanne! Hang in there - you are doing great! 1) hunger - yes, you will feel hunger signs - NORMAL... empty, tired, irritable - this is when to eat to saity... you will not be "starving" like you were before with your football sized tummy though!!!!! Anything more may be head hunger and THAT is what YOU have got to get under control.. this surgery is just a tool, and the surgery was on your stomach, NOT your head!!!! 2) ok one day, sick the next re foods eaten - NORMAL... we will all experience this - just our new systems adjusting!! 3) we will all lose at different rates... you are a "lite weight" and in having said that... me being heavier I will lose a bit faster at first, but of course there are other things in there too... while the scale may not reflect it (looking like you may be on a plateau) check you measurements and the fit of your clothes... your body is changing and adjusting! If you really are finding no loss, get back to basicis... PROTEIN, WATER, EXERCISE!!!!! Again, you are doing great! All the best to you! OMG, under 200..... that is my dream come true. My surgery was May 7th also and I am stuck at 236 and the doggone scale won't move. I am frustrated too. I am drinking so much water that I feel like I am floating so I have decided it's time for the gym and I am going to work out until I drop. I want this weight off so badly. The scales will start moving again for you, at least that's what everyone tells me. Hugs, Esther

you know what , you are losing it takes time if i lost 55 pounds i had mine roux and y may 9 2007 and yes i do get hungry , but i have to realize something i have this pouch i do not want to cause damage. if i try to over fill it. you know. old habits die hard. i still like to gulp things down..lol . if i can get used to eating cream soups and water. and fish. i am about ready to swim upstream.. but anywho. i think your doing fine. drink your fluids and take your vitamins a must. you will feel a lot better. seriously and dont forget the B-12 . bodys are a funn7y things isn't it? just dont get to anxiety out. you will lose. believe me.
