I have always loved cottage cheese but OH MY how good it is after 2 weeks of Optifast and 1 week of clear liquids! I also had butterscotch sugar free pudding yesterday. It almost made me sick--tooo sweet! Never had that problem before. Looking forward to pureed diet. Mel

I soooo hear you on waiting fo rthe pureed diet! I had my surgery on the same day as you. I find it easier to get all my lquids in now so that is good but I am looking forward to something with more consistency! I had lost 13lbs wehen I went the other day but can tell that I have lost more as my clothes are getting baggy (nice feeling!) But as for things beeing too sweet. I find I will go for soups over pudding cause the sugar free with Splenda is very sweeet to me. Never ever have I thought something too sweet! LOL! How are you doing on your protein? Donna

Isn't it fascinating? Right out of surgery I found SF ice pops and jello way too sweet. And when I was finally allowed to put milk in my decaf coffee, what used to be my favorite beverage turned into something unrecognizable! I'd rather have tea now. So weird.

I'm right there with you. I can't tolerate most things that are sweet now. Everything tastes 10 x sweeter than it ever did. Weird!! I can't even stand 1/2 strength crystal lite. I used to make it double strength! The bad part is.....I can't stand protein drinks either. Even the ones I loved before surgery---they make me gag now. It's so strange. I wish I could say I'm doing good at getting in protein/calories/and liquids--but I'm acutally doing HORRIBLE. I'm doing worse with all of this now that I'm back to work.......Grrrrrr. I wish I knew of some way to get it all in...or at least 1/2 of it. I'm stuck....not sure what to do. =( Courtney

Hi Courtney im doing horrible with my protein and liquids also. Just like you all the protein before surgery I could tolerate now it makes me so sick. So I read on another post where a lady around couldn't tolerate her protein so she just got it in whatever way she could (seafood, peanut butter, beans, eggs, cheese etc.) and she did fine. I can't remember how long it's been since her surgery though. But someone did say the best way to get your fluids in would be drink 4-6 oz every hour all day and before you know it you would've gotten in all of your fluids. So I think I will try that. To have a big mug or jug of fluids seem so intimidating. It would be easier to drink a small amount every hour. I guess it's tricking your mind as well as new pouch!
