Feeling too good?
I had my wls 5/21, and feeling great-actually Im worried that Im feeling TOO good if there is such a thing. I havent had any dumping, no vomiting, no nothing. I have also "experimented" with a few bites here and there of real food and nothing seems to bother me yet. I always expect the bad to happen, and since nothing bad has happened yet I think there is something wrong. Am I just crazy or could this really be good news?
Hi
I had my surgery on the 25th, to date I have felt wonderful as well, except one day when I was low and had to get the protein into me. Other than that I have thought the same thing, how can this be I feel so great. I figure we're just lucky. I know how that may sound to some that are having a more difficult time and I am sorry to hear that you are, it will get better. I have tried lots of things as well and never yet had any nauseau while eating or vomiting or dumping. This just means that if we continue that way we'll have to be more careful than others with what we eat.

I had my surgery on 5/25 too. I've been feeling great since I got home from the hospital on 5/28. I haven't experimented with anything. I'm a pudding girl still. LOL But, I've been running around like a crazy woman since my daughter's dance recital/production is Saturday. People were shocked when I came to dance class on 5/31. Guess they figured I'd be in bad shape. LOL I think a few people saw that I did well. They're asking for my surgeon's name. LOL The only downside I've found to doing so well is the family. Well, in particular, my husband. He sees that I'm doing well so I'm pretty much on my own to do everything. That's the only part that really bites.
Just keep having fun with this journey!

Hi Marci,
Well I know I am not alone. Everything they gave me to drink in the hospital went down with a breeze and everything I eat doesn't cause dumping or anything. That concerns me because I wonder if my doctor really did the surgery because I feel too good. I can probably eat more then I should, but I stop just because I don't want to take the chance. I don't have any discomfort and have not had diahrrea, just the normal BM. I just hope it's working because I don't feel like I had surgery.
I am going to ask my doctor today about it.
Hugs,
Esther
Hello Esther,
I too felt as if my doctor didn't do anything, but yesterday I went for my first post-op appointment with my surgeon who quickly told me to stop the experimenting and stick to program. She said it's about 9 months to a year before your metabolism resets itself and makes it harder to shed the weight. It's also a good 6 weeks before the patient is completely healed, inside especially says my doctor. I'm down 14 lbs which is great, and I want to keep heading in that direction so it's back to program for me. I go back to work on Monday so that should help as well. I am curious as to what your doctor will say to you, if you could please let me know. Keep up the good work and hope you continue your good fortune with feeling good.

Well my doctor told me that if I actually overeat or eat something wrong, believe me I would know it. He told me to stick to the program also and the weight will come off but I asked him why I can eat and eat and eat and he said it's probably because I am eating slowly and chewing my food into water before swallowing and that is true, I am doing that.
I am going to just stay on protein and try to stay to a small portion and see if I can't get the weight off that way.
Good luck to you too,
Esther
All I can say is count your blessings. I would love to have been on your side of the bell curve but alas I actually did have some nausea and vomiting, along with a few other complications. It's all working out for me though as time goes by and I'm not complaining or jealous. But I'd like to have been in a position to write what you did!

Hi T.Rob,
I wish is had more trouble getting things down because then I would know that I was normal. I feel like I can eat like normal and that scares me. The nausea and vomiting will go away soon, I promise. You are doing great and everyday will get better and better.
It's good to hear from you. I went to the doctor yesterday and I have lost 40 pounds, 3 inches off my waist and 2 inches off my hips and 1 inch off my legs. I am happy with that, that's for sure.
Hugs,
Esther
