Hi Friends, Just a note to tell you all hello and hope all of you are doing great. I am feeling wonderful and just wanted to share all the fun things that are starting to happen in my life. First of all, I am starting to get comments from my co-workers that I look like I have lost weight. Last night my kids said, wow...Mom your butt is really getting small and your clothes are getting too big. Naturally I was walking on Cloud 9 after those comments. Yesterday I had some Cottage Cheese and I think I ate about 3 tablespoons and I was stuffed. That's a first because I used to be a non-stop eater. Just thought I would let you know that I am LOVING LIFE! I don't know why I waited so long to have this WLS. Love you all, Esther

Congratulations Esther! Sounds like you're doing GREAT!!!!!! I see the scale move but *I* don't see the weight loss. But, when the kids tell you your butt's getting small.....that's priceless! Way to go! * Cyndi *

Hi Cyndi, It's a good feeling, that's for sure. I don't notice it but I haven't seen my kids for about a week and when they came over and noticed it, it was a great feeling. My butt is not small by any means, but that's okay.....I'll take the compliment anyway. It's just fun knowing there is hope! Love ya, Esther

Isn't it great? I got a small chilli from Wendy's today and I was looking at it thinking "How can I eat only half on that?" because I was starving by lunchand sure enough...less than halfway into it, I was stuffed! It's such a relief to have something work for once. As for feeling 'thinner' I can definitely feel my stomach buldge is small when I'm standing up..and a lot of people have commented on my face looking less round

Hi Chantal, You are doing great and you are so beautiful and your beauty will only get better and better. Isn't it fun to be able to eat and not worry about dieting? Hugs, Esther

Hey Ester, I'm happy to hear your doing so wonderfully. It's so nice when someone says they can tell your losing weight although I don't know about you but I'm never sure what to say LOL. I have to ask, on a different post you said you lost 40lbs! OMG what are you doing? I must be doing something wrong LOL. I'm afraid I"m not eating enough as my surgeon said I should be eating around 1000 calories but I'm only getting in 300 and he said no protein shakes so I'm not sure what he expects me to do ..ok enough about me sorry I Just want to know your secret LOL Keep up the GREAT work and keep posting I enjoy reading them! Hi Rebecca, Every doctor has a different eating program. My doctor has his patients on strickly protein until they lose 75% of their weight. I don't have to puree it anymore, just chew it into babyfood consistency. I can have cheese, chicken, turkey, tuna, crab (no imitation crab), cottage cheese, broth, sugar free jello and popcycles and also I can use Real Mayo mixed in the tuna to moisten it. To tell you the truth, it's getting old but it's working so I am trying to stay on it. Last night I went out to dinner with my family and I had a little chicken and about 1/2 of a baked potato and boy did that potato taste good but I am back on the protein today. I don't walk as much as I should but I do try to walk everyday for exercise. Try the protein and see if it works for you. Hugs, Esther

I have to stop buying potatoes I think I love them so much, they don't require chewing and go down so well. At least I recognize it and I know to stay away from it. PS Esther, I tried beef again and it's a definit no-go for now!

I know the horrors of beef. I work at a high school and last week we had Senior Field Day and they gave us all free Inn-In-Out Burgers. I ate just the meat and cheese and was sick all night. I felt like things were moving inside me like an alien. I will lay off that for a long time.

Hi all, I'm feeling great too. I can't believe I have been out of surgery just 5 days and I walked 3 miles this morning and plan to walk another 3 after dinner...well after the dinner hour. I felt a bit hungry while I was cooking a chicken breast for my wife. I asked myself why I was hungry and realized I had stopped sipping water about 2 hours prior to that. As long as I sip water, I'm always feeling satisfied. Another amazing thing is being able to sip 32oz of water while on a walk. In less than an hour, that seems like a lot of water to dump down there...nice and easy like. It is like the water has a magnet there in my intestines that pulls the water in. I'm just enjoying the post-op time to the maximum. I hope all of you are doing well too. John
