I LOVE SALAD and all I have been eating is protein to get my weight off but dang....I am so hungry for a big salad with cucumbers and eggs and tuna. How soon can we have a salad without disturbing the intestines? Hugs, Esther

I've heard a lot of different information on this. My NUT never specified when I could have salad again. I think they just don't want you filling up on it since there's nothing good in it for you. Better to fill up on protein and stuff than to 'waste' it on lettuce! I've also heard that the lettuce is really hard to digest. I did have a tiny bit this weekend and it was absolutely fine. Who knows?

Thanks Chantal, I like talking to you because our surgeries are so close to the same time that we can experiment together. I haven't tried it yet but maybe this weekend, I'll sample a cucumber or something. Thanks Bud Esther

Thanks for shareing that Julia, I guess salad is the hardest to digest so I know I have to go without it for a long time but I don't want to cause my intestines any trama. I go to the doctor tomorrow so I will ask him about it but too many people have told me the same thing you just did so I am not even going to attempt it yet. Hugs, Esther

I love salad too, but it will be a while before I can have it. At least 6 months. Salad is hard to digest and there isn't a lot of nutrients. Lettuce is full of water. Eventually you will get to have your salad Esther. Good Luck!

Hi Betsy, It sounds like you are doing great from all your posts. You and I are the May 7th Losers so I know you are probably as scared to try new things as I am. I know that Salad will be one of the last things we can have but boy I will enjoy it when the time comes. Are you back to work? This is my second week back to work and I feel really good but when I get home, I am ready to relax because I am tired. Luckily, I work at a large high school and so I get the chance to do a lot of walking so when I get home I can relax. Take care. Hugs, Esther

I guess you have gotten all your answers but I wanted to chime in. Although most veggies are hard to digest as well as gassy and that's why we have to stay away, it might be a good time to find out from your nutritionist what veggies pack the biggest punch. That way when you do get to have a slad it will e full of good nutrients. I mean honestly iceberg lettuce is really only good fro cleaning out your intestine where as tomatoes have amazing health benefits. Anyway Good luck!!
