Today was to be transition from clear liquids to full liquids. I was so happy to get to eat some cream of wheats...1/2 a cup. Big mistake!! I got less than 1/4 a cup in me and eeeeeew I was sooo nauseated the rest of the afternoon & a little still. I did okay w/ puddings & fat free half & half in my decaf coffee, but it will be a while before I try the hot cereal again

April, I got the okay for Stage 2 on Thursday. You got further than me. I made Cream of Wheats, took one look, tossed it and made pudding. I've been eating either White Chocoloate SF pudding or Banana Cream SF pudding. LOL But, I'm loving watching the Food Network. * Cyndi *

Totally with ya on that! But the pudding and I are BFF lately- White Chocolate is good like Cyndi and the Chocolate and Vanilla SF/FF ones are good too. All I've been eating is pudding, broth, protein shakes, and water. Is there something else I can try?? I don't get cleared for pureed food till Thursday. There is only so much broth a girl can eat! Hope you're feeling better April! Kathy

Have you tried SF Jello? I like that and they have quite a few flavors. How about Weigh****chers yogurt too. They have some very yummy flavors.

Sorry it didn't go down okay. Do you think you had too much and it aggravated your pouch? I get to start Cream of Wheat Wednesday, but only 2 Tablespoons at a serving and I have to try and make that stretch 20 minutes. lol I'm looking forward to some new tastes too. I'm not hungry but the clear liquids gets a little old. lol (((hugs))) Michelle

Yes, have tried the SF Jello & puddings and they are fine. No, I don't think I had too much of the Cream of Wheats. The menu Dr. gave me said 1/2 C, I ate about 1/4 C. I do think that maybe it was too thick. I made it thinner than usual & even added 2TBS. of 1% milk after it was cooked (like the menu said) to make it even thinner. However, I will NOT be tring it again for sometime. I agree, I am not hungry whatsoever, but want to chew, use a fork, & taste something other than liquids.

The cream of wheat I ate right after surgery went down okay for me...but since I don't like it--I never had it again. I ate a lot of pudding and NSA applesauce. I did horrible my first two weeks--because none of that stuff sounded good to me. I refused cream soups or broth too. My surgeon allows thinned instant mashed potatoes during the whole "full liquids" stage--maybe you could try that? Those went down well. I'm now on to soft solids/pureed foods. Everything has been fine so far---except for scambled eggs --Need I say more? I also had some cottage cheese last night that made me sick.......which was weird because I have had it a couple times before with no problems. I think my pouch was grumpy yesterday--because nothing seemed to sit real well. Otherwise--I have no brilliant ideas for you. Good luck!! It will get better. Courtney
