I opened my windows today to get in some fresh air because I just cant find any energy to go out and a couple of my windows were a litle tight and I had to push kinda hard to open them up-- do yall think thats okay? I am a worry wort and I worry about the small stuff. Also my left side feels real tight----is this normal? I called the dr. but i get myself so worked up and worried I just dont know.....

Hi Carol, I had my WLS on May 7th and my left side still hurts. It's getting less and less but when I am really tired it hurts a lot. That is the stomach that they cut off so I think it is probably going through withdrawals and is still drying out. I am just guessing but that's the only thing I can think of. Don't worry, we all have fears because this is new for us. Hugs, Esther

Thanks Esther... the doctor called me back and said that it was fine but that I do need to take it easy because I did just have surgery....I think because I can walk well that my family has forgotten because they have been leaving all thw cleaning and cooking and washing to me......I just do a little at a time and rest but it would really be nice if they would help me out still. well thanks for your reply hope your side feels better soon. Have a good nite. Carol

I had my surgery 051507 and I still do not do any house hold chores. Last night was the first time I cooked dinner for the family. I have terrible pain inmy side when I stand still. My Dr said it is all normal but, I can walk up to 45 min with no problem what so ever. Please I know its hard but remind oyur family when you need them and I am sure they will step up. I made the mistake a week out of going grocery shopping and picking up Rx from the pharmacy and other "little" things. The next day I was no goood to anyone not even myself. It was horrible. But that day I felt great so all I can offer is the advice to be easy about everything you do. maxine

Carol, sounds like you just need to take it easy. I know when I do too much my tummy hurts especially on the left side. Take it easy, you will be fine!!

You just had major abdominal surgery so yes you should take it easy. I went back to work too early. Luckily my boss is really cool and lets me take mini naps as needed. Best wishes, Patti
