HELP

I just got a call an i need my gallbladder taken out,but thay said if thay do it thay will have to put my gastric bypass surgery off.So what would you do? Im scheduled for my gastric bypass on the 18th.

Talk to the Doctor's. Sometimes they will do both at the same time. Both can be done laproscopically. Boy I wouldn't want to be you right now. You will have to listen to the DR's advice. Is the Gall bladder painfull right now? Good luck whatever you decide. Let us know Darlene. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Darlene, I had my gall bladder ultrasound pre-op and they found stones. They decided to take it out but I had them wait until I had my gastric bypass...my surgeon routinely takes out the gall bladder if there is evidence of stones. I wasn't having any trouble with my gall bladder so was about to wait the month and get it done at the same time. That should be an option to you if your surgeon can do that type of surgery and it isn't bothering you right now. Good luck! Jamie

I'll agree with the others. My surgeon asked me about my gallbladder and I told him I'd had it out in 1989. He told me if not he would have removed it during my RNY. * Cyndi *
