T.Rob - out of Surgery
May 2007 Surgery Date friends,
I am please to report that T.Rob is out of surgery and doing very well as reported by his wife, Joan. His surgery took about 2 hours and his doctor was very pleased. He spent about 45 minutes in recovery and should be up and walking by the time of this posting. I wish could have posted earlier, but I forgot when I agreed to this that I had my own remaining work at the hospital to take care of this morning.
You are all encouraged to show your support at his surgery page below. If the link does not work for some reason, you can reach his page by going to my friends and finding him there.

Way to go T.Rob. May your recovery be as quick and painless as possible.
John
Thanks John for posting my updates, and thanks to everyone else for the replies. In addition to my WLS surgery, I had a hernia repaired. Oddly, that's what hurts the most. But the pain has really not been bad. I had some trouble sleeping without my CPAP machine and my mouth dried up really bad. You can bet I was missing being able to drink then! But they did let me rinse and spit. I did four laps around the ward today so far and it felt like a mile!
Well, I'm keeping this short because I'm pretty much wiped out. and probably not making much sense. At least not to me. Will post again later when I've had some more rest. Thanks again everyone for all the positive energy, prayers and well wishes.

Hey T.Rob......you did it
Everyday you will feel stronger and stronger. And the worst part is the dry mouth but when they start bringing you some Crystal Lite or broth, that will all go away. I hear you had a pretty easy surgery and it sounds like your recovery is going well too. Just rest a lot because it helps you heal. Press that sweet little pain button and enjoy the relaxing time. I am back to work so no more napping.
I am so happy for you T.Rob and you are going to feel better and better as the weight drops off.
Keep us posted on your progress.
Hugs
Esther
