4 days post-op - no regrets
I'm really feeling good. I have no side effects at this point, but am doing everything that I was told to do, and not swaying from the instructions at all. So far I've had no cravings, and really no desire to eat either. I am eating for the sake of "fuling" my body. For those of you that have fears: Lay your fears aside, and go into this surgery with positive thoughts in your mind. I was out of the hospital in less than 48 hours. I really didn't have a lot of pain. THe pain I felt was more of a "bruised" sort of feeling...like someone punched me in the stomach. I've taken a few of the pain pills, but as of today I am only taking liquid tylenol for pain. That is a good thing. I have a tinge of a back ache, but I think that is from sleeping in the chair for two nights i n a row. I have also used a lavendar scented warm bean bag to A) keep me warmer, and B) the lavender relaxes me. Someone gave this to me as a gift. Other nice gifts family gave me instead of flowers were: new night gown, 2 new flowing dresses so that I didn't have to wear waist bands against my mid section, new slippers, new fragrant shampoo.
I ham so happy that I had this surgery, at this point - and even though I am still a little weak, I am getting stronger each day. I haven't had a chance to read other postings, so I hope other people who had the surgery that I am buddies with have done well. I am using a slow computer, because I am staying with my daughter, so I will post again when I actually go to my home. At this point, I am afraid my dog will want to jump on me, and as much as she loves me, I am afraid she will hurt me....so until I heal a little more I am staying with my duaghter. TAke care all...and for those of you waiting for surgery....NO FEAR! Just follow the directions you are given....and measure all of your intake!
