Insurance Paying for Psychiatrist State of TN - Cigna POS

State of Tennessee Employees need to know that your mental healt provider will cover your Psych Evaluation. All you need to do is call the number on the back of your card and tell them what you are needing it for and the psychiatrist you are using and if they are on the list all you have to pay is the co-pay. I paid Dr. Obrian 200.00 the day I went in and today I got a check for 125.00 back from him. This is because the Evaluation is billed in 3 different segments. Had I thought about it to begin with and used my 5 free visits I would have gotten all of the 200 back. You must get your authorization prior to the visit and I had to pay out of pocket to begin with, but you do get it back. Just wanted to share with you so that you aren't stuck paying for the eval when you don't have to.
