Hi everyone, I am new here. I had my lap band procedure on 05/01/07. I lost about 14-15 lbs during the 2 weeks prior. To date I have lost about 27 lbs. Initially, I was not hungry at all. Suppose that was due to the swelling and newness of it. Now, I get hungry and I am sure I've overeaten even though it's less than a cupfull at a time. It always hurts afterwards. I dull ache kind of pain that radiates through to the back. I'm trying to adjust on eating too fast and too much. Is there anyone else here who has had the lap band procedure early in May?

Hi, thanks for the responses! Well, this is my 4th week and according to the surgeon's weight loss team, I'm supposed to be in my 2nd week of pureed foods/mushy food. I can still have the previous weeks liquids, soups, etc. and mostly keep up with the protein shakes but can incorporate the mushy stuff. So, for now, I've kept with the cottage cheese (fat free) as the nutrionist said it's high in calcium and most of all protein. I rotate liquids to keep hydrated as much as possible, using the Carnation instant breakfast protein plus powder added to fat free milk when tired of the protien shake taste. I have been eating things like mashed potatoes, really wet stove top dressing (just have to have a meat flavor somehow!) green beans-smashed up really well, and my husband makes this corn dish that is made of fresh corn grinded and baked with a little bit of baking powder and sugar but he put in Splenda for me. I've used sugar free popsicles and fudge bars too. It's just without the 'fill' I feel like I'm not feeling satisfied and still desire a bit more. I don't pu**** a lot but maybe exceed the 4 oz mark by going up to almost a full cup of food for a meal. That's when I get the dull ache. All my papers for each level of diet during the first 6 wks insist upon 4 oz of food. Today I started using a Mott's single serve apple sauce cup to measure better. I didn't have anything else in the house that said 4 oz and was easy to measure. This is 3.9 oz so I guess that's close enough. The first 3 wks was easy to not eat anything just sip on stuff but as I've healed so has my appetite. I'm working hard too on not drinking when I eat and that seems tough too. Thanks everyone!
