I'm home...
Hey guys and girls--
I'm home now...got home around noon today. The ride home wasn't too bad...I had an ice pack and a pillow and I pretty much slept the whole hour. I'm still really really sore--it's hard to get up and down. They had kind of a hard time making sure there was a good connection between my pouch and the intestine so surgery took almost 3 1/2 hours. He said that's part of the reason I could be so sore.....they also had use extra gas on me since the surgery took longer---hence the extra pain and pressure. However, I'm just taking liquid Lortab now...about every 6 hours and it seems to work alright. I think most of the pain is from the gas---which the pain meds don't seem to help too much with. I still hate food and liquids--don't know when this will pass. I haven't been good at getting my protein in the last couple days--because I feel SO full that I have to foce myself to eat or drink anything. Ugh! Otherwise, everything went fine...and my surgeon says I'm doing fine. Thanks for all your prayers and support! Anyway, I'm too sore to sit here in this chair. I'll update more when I can.

Hey I was just coming in to check up on ya! I know you're probably sick of hearing it...but walk walk walk! The gas is the worst part of recovery. And that full feeling you have is from the leftover gas in your stomach pressing on your little pouch. So hang in there, keep drinking water and feel better soon!
