Hi Sam, Think about how good you are going to feel about yourself in June! I had the lapband on May 3rd and I am totally pleased. It's a great feeling to watch the pounds melt away and feel proud of yourself for making it day by day without over eating. And you can feel just a little bit smug knowing that you are not a slave to food anymore. What a great feeling it is to want to get dressed in the morning - no longer having to struggle with finding something that covers you body! Good luck to you on the 25th!!! Let us know how you are doing when you get home.

Sam, I was a basket case and spent all my waking hours on the computer asking for help to get me through the last days before WLS. I tortured myself with worry for absolutely no reason. It was the easiest surgery ever and I was up in no time, very little pain and it has been 11 days since my surgery and I am already back to work, feeling good and have lost 30 pounds already. To add to it.....I am 60 years old and I bounced right back. Don't worry.....you will be fine and after it's all over you will ask yourself, "WHY DID I WORRY SO MUCH". Sam, your doctor wants more patients after you so he wouldn't even do the surgery on you if you were a risk because he wants only patients that will keep his reputation good and they do these surgeries so frequently that it's so easy for them. YOU WILL BE JUST FINE. Keep me posted on how you are doing. My prayers are with you and you will be so happy when you are on the LOSER'S BENCH with me. Hugs, Esther

Hi, Ester! Your words to Sam help me alot! I think you are right in what you are saying about surgeons and their reputations! My doc has done over 200 laproscopic RNYs, so I feel pretty safe. Thankis, Jean

Hi Sam, I was a major basketcase. I was on here posting almost every other day with nervous/breakdown posts. I was really scared. I agree with everyone else that has posted. Your surgeon wouldn't operate on you if he didn't think it would be fine. Of course, with that said, you know there are risks. You have to be completely honest with your surgeon about everything, call him for any issue or problem that arises and follow his directions to the T and you will do great. I am 4 days post op and already down 22 lbs. I'm sore but it's going to be so worth it in the end. I wondered why I lost so much sleep over worry but it's a normal thing. You will do great! Jamie

Hi Sam! We're surgery buddies! I've been getting all my things together and getting so organized at home that I just realized today it's only 5 more days until surgery. It's natural to be nervous. It's surgery for goodness sakes. But, as you've read from everyone else, in the end, we just worry for no reason. Hang in there and find things to keep your mind occupied. I've been reading "Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies" over and over. For me......I'm ready for Friday!!!!!! Best wishes to you! * Cyndi * 5 Days and Counting!!!!!
