Anyone heard from T-Rob???
T-Rob.....if you are reading this, I hope you are okay. I am back to work and feeling wonderful and you will be so happy you did it. The waiting is the worst part and after it is over you will be so glad you did the WLS like I am. Soon you will be on the Loser's Bench like Karen and I are.
Hugs,
Esther
I'm here, I'm here! Sorry but I tend to drop off the face of the earth for a few days or a week at a time. I was working for two clients last week at the same time - one during business hours and one via email at night. In addition I'm getting ready to present next week at a conference and have had last minute updates to my slides. On top of all that, my daughter and her fiancee were out dirt-biking and wrecked their 4-wheeler last week. He broke both hands and she's pretty banged up but otherwise OK. We've had the baby since last Saturday and my wife has helped some with the kids' doctor appointments. So it's been hectic, to say the least, and next week doesn't look to be much slower.
But I'm glad to see you are back to work and online. Great to hear that you are feeling wonderful! I need to go check your profile and see if you've posted to your blog so I won't ask here about all the details.

Hi T.Rob,
No I haven't posted yet to my blog. I am doing great even though I ended up with a 7 hour surgery. The only reason is because mine was a revision and the doctor had a lot of scar tissue to clean up. I never really felt bad after surgery and didn't have much pain and was up and walking the next day because by the time I got out of recovery it was 7:00 pm and my doctor put me in ICU until the next day just to observe me because of the length of the surgery, but while I was in ICU I was visiting with the nurses and never felt bad at all.
The worst part was the dry mouth but they gave me water swabs to keep my mouth moist. I will tell you this.....I would do it again. I have lost over 30 pounds already and don't feel weak or anything. I do get tired toward the end of the day but it hasn't even been 2 weeks yet since the surgery so that is to be expected.
Your's is coming up and I know you must be getting excited. Sounds like with all the activity going on in your family and work, you haven't had much time to think about the big day.
Well, I am here for you and I know you will be sooooooooooo happy you did it. It will be easier for you because you are not getting a revision so you should be out quickly and ready to get going.
Take care and keep me posted so I don't worry about you.
Hugs,
Esther
Esther when you say yours was a revision, do you mean you actually had bypass surgery once before and this time was a revision to that surgery? I thought you were a brand new bypass patient.....I kinda feel stupid with all that stuff I told you about before surgery, you already knew what to expect! LOL!
Tami,
Don't feel stupid Tami, you really helped me a lot because I am a new gastric bypass patient. I didn't know what to expect and still have questions like how much pureed protein should I eat. I have been doing 3 tablespoons and feel hungry so I don't know if I am eating enough. I had a very old surgery (11 years ago) before and they don't even do that surgery anymore. The reason I wanted the RNY is because it is so successful. My old surgery was very different and because of all the scar tissue, nothing good would go down. I could only eat sugar and chips because they dissolve but the RNY is a whole new thing to me so THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your help. You helped me more then you know and because of your advise I have made it this far.
This is totally different from the old surgery and I am scared to eat because I don't want to stretch my pouch and unlike the other surgery, I can't tolerate fats or sweets so I am sure I will be asking you even more questions in the future. You are a very dear person and I love you.
Love,
Esther
