I am really starting...
Laurie, my surgery is on the 23rd, and my "freak out" day was yesterday! I ended up going to my first support group last night, and it was the best thing I could do for myself. If you have one locally that you can go to this week-end, I would encourage it! I sat listening to women give me more encouragement and support than I thought one person could have. I've also asked for support via my list of friends on OH. Sometimes, we just have to ask for the help, and someone will respond. It's often the only time we really can get our needs met.
Laurie, according to everyone I've visited with yesterday, you and I are going down the same path as the majority of others who have been faced with a few more days until surgery. Hang in there with me, and we will compare notes when its all over!

Thinking of all you May babiesss daily!
Hi there!
I just popped on to the May boards and please don't freak out...because my surgery's the same day here in Virginia, and if you freak..it could be contageous!
Good luck with your procedure, I'm sure all will go well. I'm going to spend some time this weekend trying to figure out what to take to the hospital...I've not even thought about that - I've been too busy trying to get everything done at work!
Take care - and keep all us "May Babies" posted on your progress!
Sending good thoughts your way,
Hugs,
Chele
I wish you the best of luck and don't worry, everyone has the "what if" questions and everything else you're gonna have pop in your head - make peace with the fact that you are not just sitting idly by letting death sneak up on you! You are fighting it! Go girl!!! Here's to a successful surgery with no complications and a great weight loss... 2007 is all about you (and me)!!!!
I had a gastric bypass on May 7th....I am 60 years old and prior to surgery I made myself sick with worry. I had all the emotions you are feeling right now and because I am older I was questioning my decision. Annette helped me by saying.....doctors will not do your surgery if you were a risk, they want more patients after you and want to keep their good reputations. Well honey, I will tell you this, I would do it again and again. It was the easiest surgery ever...very little pain and I have lost over 30 pounds so far. I will be praying for you and you will be just fine.
Hugs,
Esther
