I made it through surgery!

I'm cross posting this, but wanted to let all the Maysters out there know how I'm doing so far... Hi everyone! I made it through surgery, chatted with Peggy in the halls and am at home now. I was hurting this AM quite a bit, and I suspect it is the drain tube. I hopefully will get that out on Tuesday. Other than that, I feel pretty good. I just had some breakfast and went for my walk. And I was able to finally get in the shower this AM. I'm struggling so far today with my fluids, but am working on it. My throat feels a little scratchy... not sure what's up with that. Your throat might be scratchy from being intubated (sp?) during surgery. I have this odd fear of being intubated during surgery (even tho I'll be knocked out.. LOL), I mentioned this to my PCP and he said the only 'side effect' would be a sore or scratchy throat.. if that. Other than that, good to hear you are feeling ok!

Glad you made it thru surgery and you are home! I came home with a drain tube also and it is painful. I will get mine out thrusday. I am stuggling on my fluids, every waking momment I am sipping.. I know it will get better.. Best wishes!! Tina
