I'm home and feeling great!
I came home yesterday from the hospital and except for some evil gas pain, I'm feeling great. It was a walk in the park. My six little incisions barely hurt at all. I was walking within a couple of hours of my surgery. Honestly, the worst was the gas pain that started on day two and that is getting better and better. Thank God for GasX! I am getting liquids down just fine, but have no desire at all for anything more solid. On day 2 I could barely finish a half a tablespoon of jello. AMAZING!!! I have had no hunger at all. My family grilled hamburgers tonight and I was totally satisfied with my few tablespoons of cream of mushroom soup. Everyone felt bad about eating in front of me, but I had no desire to eat any of what they had. It smelled good, but my craving wasn't there any more. It has been like a miracle. I am going to enjoy this honeymoon period for as long as I can. I have not had one hunger pain since I was in preop on Tuesday. I did gain 3 pounds in the hospital because of all the fluids that they pump into you, but I am not worried. I know that I will really start to lose soon. Best wishes to everyone who is scheduled this month. I hope and pray that all of you have as easy a time as I have had.
Welcome home Sandra!!! I'm glad you're doing so well. My husband feels bad because we always have a Memorial Day cookout and celebrate our birthdays. His is May 19 and I'm May 29. Since my surgery is May 23 and I'll just bet getting home he's all upset and doesn't know what to do. I show him notes like this and tell him to grill away! I'll be having jello and I won't share.
Congrats of your seat on the Losers' Bench!!!!

Sandra, I'm so glad hearing how great everything so far has turned out for you. I only hope & pray mine is just as great. My surgery is on Monday, the 14th. I loved knowing that you were not hungry and satisfied with what you ate. I'm doing 2 days of liquid before Monday and it was a little tough.....but I survived. It really helped to read your post and to visualize more positive thoughts. Best of luck in the next few weeks & keep in touch.
