6 day until Lap Band surgery

Tammy, Just hang in there, stay on your liquid diet if your doctor has you on that. I just had my lapband on May 1st and back to work already. Make sure to follow your doctors orders and you will do great... Schatzi

Hi, Sounds like your surgery went great. I hope my goes as well and my recovery is as fast. I have to start the liquid diet on Sunday before surgery on Monday. Is being on the liquid diet as hard as it sounds? Thanks, Tammy

Hi Tammy, will be thinking of you on Monday. I had Lapband also, on 4/23. Time has gone by fast. Because of diabetes I had to be off 2 wks from work, to make sure I didn't need insulin. Doctor didn't want me to take all my meds for sugar unless I needed them. Luckily, blood sugar never went over 200, so didn't have to do shots. I notice your BMI was at the low end like mine. Please tell me more about yourself. I seem to be interested in others at the same weight & having lapband also. I had this surgery to improve my health, get off diabetes meds & loose weight. So far off 2 sugar meds, so that is a start. Talk to you later... Pam-busdriver

Hi Pam, Sorry it has taken me so long to get back with you. I work a 12 hour swing shift so my computer time is not at the same time every day. I will be happy to tell you about myself. I have been over weight most all of my adult life (44 age) and have high BP and now I have low blood sugar that swings out of control TOO often. You know how that feels. I have tried for years to lose the weight and have been successfull several times only to gain it back PLUS more. So I think and my doctor thinks this is the best thing for me. I am a self pay. So the money has been hard to come by but I know it will be worth it soon. I am 5' 3" and weighted 194 Tuesday at my pre-op appoint. I have been over 200 too many times. So please tell me about the surgery? Is it bad or just some what bad. I had gall bladder surgery in January and my surgeon said it would not be much more than that. I also have a hitial hernia that he is going to repair while he is doing the lap band? Did you have anything like that done? Take Care Tammy C.
