Possible delay...

My surgeon just called me... he had to cancel all his surgeries today because someone in the nuclear medicine dept quit and there are 8 hour holes in their schedule where there is not trained staff to do the specialized CT scan tests he uses to check for leaks and blood clots. Not sure yet about tomorrow... says he has spoken with the hospital administration a number of times to fix this issue, but he will not operate if he can not do it without these tests - does not feel it would be safe to do so... so I will find out later today / this evening if it is a go for tomorrow morning or not... as a side note he told me that these surgeries are a money maker for the hospital, so from a business point this is a priority for the hospital administration. No idea how long a delay may be if it comes... hours, days, weeks, months??? Who knows???

That is awful. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Maybe they can get a temp technician. We use them all the time in my facilitiy.. Amari

Aww Erin, I just read this from the Ontario board. This does suck, I really hope they'll be up and running by tomorrow so you can have your surgery on time...you've waited long enough! Keep us posted hun...
