Things to bring to the hospital
Since so many of you are going in this week I thought some of us could share what helped us in the hospital.
-Pillow, it was so comforting to have my own pillow! It was also great to have on the ride home, I was coughing and sneezing a lot, so it was nice to 'lean' on.
-Flip-flops, it was pretty hot in my hospital...I think my feet would have died in big fluffy slippers
-Chapstick, no joke, I thought my lips were going to fall off in the couple of days after surgery. I'm a lip balm freak to begin with, but I was putting on my good medicated stuff every half hour.
-Good body lotion. I felt really smelly post-op so until I was able to shower (on the 2nd evening) I would rub some nice smelling lotion. It felt awesome.
-Tooth brush and toothpaste, this may seem like a no brainer, but the first thing I did once I was able to walk was brush my teeth. I was brushing them at least 3 times a day after that.
-Music was also great for the walking around the hospital, and in bed, it was to listen to good music instead of regular hospital noises.
I bought a couple of books and some magazines, but I didn't even touch those. And I know someone told me not to bring a hairdryer, which I wasn't going to, good thingtoo because I was so exhausted after that shower, just in case.
Hope that helps...feel free to add suggestions!
