Encouragement Please!!!!
Hi Everyone! I had my surgery on Friday 4/27 and it went really well and I was discharged on the Sunday. Unfortunetly, when I got home that day I started getting a fever and tylonol would not break it, I topped out at 103 with diahrea. My Doc readmitted me back into the hostpital, I went through a battery of tests, found out that when antibiotics after surgury sometimes they eat away the "good bacteria," in your colon. So I am put on Flagyl a really nasty pill that is huge that I have to take 3x/day and I was given potassium treatments becase the diarhrea was washing out all my potassium, which is needed for the heart. This was really painful, it burned to the bone. I spent Monday-Thursday in the hospital. While in the hospital I got a cold, and it really sucks to be coughing and sneezing all the time, which tugs at my incision sites.
Please can someone tell me this will get better, I feel miserable and have doubts that I did the right thing. I am having a hard time figuring out when to much is to much until it comes up and then trying to get all the fluids in just makes things worse. I don't mean to whine, but this has sucked so far!
Jen,
I'm sorry to hear about the complications you are having. I will be praying for you. I can not tell you what went wrong or what went right, what I can tell you is that you have people praying for you to pull through this.
We all make this decision to better our lives, you are just having a setback at this time. I wish you a speedy recovery...
Best Wishes...
Hi Jen,
I'm sorry to hear you are having such a tough time with your recooperation. I am still a week and a half pre-op but want to tell you it will get better. I had many setbacks with a c-section when I had my daughter...blood loss, transfusions, staff infection, staple line bursting open, and 5 months of my abdomen having a hole for drainage. To be honest, I doubted whether having a baby was the best thing for me...granted your situation is a little different but the point of my post is....after being healed...I look back on it as bumpy but SO WORTH IT. I think you will look back on your situation someday and say the same thing. I'm praying for you that all will turn around soon. Take care...
Jamie
