Surgery tomorrow! May 4th
It's finally here and I'm uncanily (?) calm. I'm hoping that is an indication that I'm truly ready for this procedure. I've been keeping myself busy with last minute stuff; cleaning, laundry and tonight a two hour Grey's Anatomy!! Oh, and I'll also need to give extra attention to two special needs kitties (they're deaf) who won't understand why they can't sleep in/on my bed for the next week...they tend to want to pounce on me in the early hours of each morning - ouch. I wish everyone waiting for their "day" the patience to persevere.
Our cats have taken to sleeping in bed with us lately as well. My wife has the patience of Job with them but they are not hearing-impaired. I can't imagine having to deal with that on top of them just being cats. Pouncing, litter boxes AND having to learn sign language?
Sorry, couldn't resist. Hugs and prayers for your surgery.

Thanks for the thoughts, my surgery went very well according to various nurses. I was disappointed that I did not see my surgeon prior to discharge, but also knew he had two additional surgeries on Friday - hernia types not bariatric. The surgery prior to mine was a by-pass and was about an hour longer than anticipated so I had some waiting to do. The time was taken up by two visitors and some much needed rest. I was so tired from the previous day that when it came time for the anesthesia, I told him it wouldn't take much to knock me out and WHAM the next thing I knew I was muttering in recovery. Upon getting home, my cats were totally unaware of any trauma that I may have endured and were begging for their evening meal. They may be deaf but boy can they meow their needs! They also are none too happy with the closed door policy!!!
Again, thanks for the well wishes and know everything is progressing nicely.
