Boy does it feel good to be out of that hospital! Everything went great, I haven't had any pain meds since 4am yesterday which is great. I am in NO pain at all except for my throat from the breathing tube they put it (while I was awake which I was not happy about at all). The worst of it was the first day gas pains. I was not expecting to be so uncomfortable. I was up on my feet a few hours after surgery, but I may have overworked myself because I was sick as soon as sat down. The first night and second way was much better. I started having some jello and chicken broth yesterday, and then cream of wheat and milk this morning and so far so good... I'M A LOSER

Hi Chantel, Why were you awake when they put the breathing tube in your throat? Was it in there when you woke up after surgery? Glad to hear you are doing so well. Did you have yours Laprscopically? My surgery is Monday, the 7th. I am scared to death. I can't wait until it is over. Where did you have your surgery done? Keep up the good work and glad you don't have any pain. Friends, Esther

Urgh, the breathing tube issue really pissed me off. They've been putting it in while the patient is awake for the past year or so. My anestigiologist explained to me that it's better for the vocal cords. He said we would try it and if it didn't work out, he would put it while I was asleep. It was very traumatic and just talking about it makes me sick, but oy!

I would dye if they put the tube in me while I was awake. I just called my doctor's office and they told me that they won't put it in while I am awake, whewwwwwwwwww! I was getting nervous. I guess all doctors and anestheologists are different. I feel sorry for you that you had to experience that. That must have been awful.. Hugs, Esther

I'm glad you won't have to go through that...it was horrible! Very traumatic, especially when I was really nervous to begin with.

Oh Chantal, I am so glad to hear that everything went so well for you. I looked all over for your update on surgery and forgot who it was that was going to post it and where it was to be posted. I have checked regularly and was so pleased to final spot an update. I can't believe that you are 3 days post-op already. I'll be asking about that oxygen tube problem and discussing that with my doctor. That seems rather inhumane to me... Anyway...focus on the good stuff. You will do great and I am so happy for you. I am so looking forward to following your journey and progress over the next year. ...and she's off and running. John
