On the countdown ...
I began the liquid diet this Tuesday; last night was the worst so far. I think I must be starting the sugar/carb withdraw. Such a headache!!!! The hunger isn't as bad, I just down some fluid when I'm feeling hungry. I am starting to get nervous. I have pre-op labs today @ 0900. That's all I have to do, besides wait and sip on some crystal light!!!! The one thing I keep doing is remembering my favorite foods that I didn't get to eat for the "last time". And of course they have the big ole billboards advertising 30 shrimp @ Red Lobster!! Anyway, this next week I need to get some protein "stuff" ordered. Don't want to order too much, everyone who's an "after" has said their tastes have changed. Hope everyone has an easy prep time! And here's to all of us having a seat on the "losers" bench!!!
I started my liquid pre-op diet back on the 18th. I did great until late this week, and I found myself nibbling on random things that my child was eating... an apple slice, a spoonful of fat free cottage cheese, hummus , nothing bad like cake, or chicken Marsala,
etc... lol A little soup here and there which help immensely !!!!
but I am supposed to be on straight liquids for the two weeks before...
Myoplex Lite , and the hi protein chocolate slim fast, and the carnation instant breakfast with lo carb or hi protein and skim milk has been the extent of my life for the past week and a half... and a little soup broth ...
Ive been doing pretty good, but usually I'm good until about 2pm and then I'm useless. Cant concentrate, loose my train of thought very easily... but I'm sure thats the carb withdrawal.
Not too much longer to go . I have my pre-op appointment with my surgeon on Monday,
then I'm off to the Cleveland Clinic for Surgery bright and early Wednesday morning!!
