Done with pre-op appts
Had all my pre-op appts finished today & everythings a go. All I have left as far as pre-op is the life style seminar on the 23rd then I have the surgery on the first. I started that liquid protien diet yesterday. All I have to say about that is... yuck... lol If anyone has any ideas on how to make it taste better & go down easer please let me know I would greatly appriciate it. I'm so excited I can't wait for the day to get here I feel like a kid waiting for christmas. Btw If anyone is looking to become someones angel I would really like one. thanks
Thank you, The brand of protien is called body fortress 100% Premium Whey Protien. The whey protien powder was on the list of the ones the dr recomended. I bought it at wal-mart it was the only brand they had. But I also got it because it only has 2grams of carbs, 1gram of sugar & 23grams of protien per serving. It also said tastes great & easy to mix. I got vanilla flavor think that it would make ok shakes & not be to bad but boy was I kidding myself. lol It has an alful taste to it & it stays gritty no matter how you make it I use a blender so I know its well mixed the thing the sucks the most (excuse my languge) is the fact that it cost $10 dollars a container so it was not cheap so its not like I can just go out & try a different brand or flavor so I guess I'm stuck with it oh well I just keep telling my self it's only for 2wks lol then I can move on to my lovely jello & broth lol About the angel thing I'm not exactly sure how that works either lol I just read about haveing one & thought it would be nice. Thank you for the offer & I would love a fairy thank you Jen
I've taken that brand down and made a note to avoid it! LOL My youngest sis is a fanatic when it comes to her weight (105), she used to work at Gold's Gym and LA Weight Loss. I know she and her hubbie have done the protein shakes. I'll have to ask her which one tastes good. Have you tried it as a slushie? Maybe the texture will make your mouth happy and you won't notice the bad flavor! hehe
Here are 2 fairies for ya:
Jennifer,
I wish I had some good advice for you. The only time I did protein shakes up to now was on Body For Life. Since it wasn't medically prescribed, we were free to put in all kinds of stuff and I have no idea whether you can have some of these additives. We used extracts like coconut, vanilla and almond but these usually have alchohol in them. We used fruits like apple, bannana and strawberry but they might have too many carbs or add too much bulk to the meal. One thing that might work for you though is cocoa powder. Not the kind you make drinks with but pure cocoa powder like for baking. My kids are both diabetic and we would add cocoa powder and aspertame or Splenda to their milk. Turned out it was great in vanilla shakes too. Actually better than some of the "chocolate" flavored shakes. We also tried adding Crystal Lite to the shakes. This tended to work better without ice, though.
Good luck and let us know what you find works best!
