Hello everyone!!! I'm going to be a may Bandster!!!!!!!!!
My name is Liz and I am scheduled for Lapband surgery on May 3rd. I have been researching this since November and am ready for this new life. I have been saving up for this since I am self pay and will be going to Acuna, Mexico with Dr. Jose Rodriguez. My husband came up with the rest of the $$ that I needed, so he very much surprised me. I am looking forward to sharing this journey with you all.

Hi Krissy,
thanks for replying!!! Of course i am a liitle nervous, traveling alot. I think out of everything I have concerns about keeping comfortable during the plane flight. I have tickets for no stop travel so, that is a great thing. When i was looking into this in dec I couldn't get a non- stop to save my life. but now, it just totally opened up for me....maybe its the right time;)
Yes, I have a feeling it is going to go fast, but i am totally ready. I have a BMI of 39.7....so, I am ready for this life change, as we all are.
One of my patients had RNY on feb 28th and she came in and showed me her scars...not as bad as I thought. the tubing thing looked alittle uncomfortable but she said its better then it looks. She's healing fine and let me tell you she dropped like 36 pounds so far. I was shocked to be able to see her wrist bones.....we both were laughing so hard, she knows i'm going to get banded...so she knows I am truly excited for her!!!!!
Thanks girls!!!! We will all be on the loser side together. Chantel, I read your profile....it really touched me when your dad said that he would pay for it. I think that is sweet. For the past couple of months, I have been struggling with the money issue since i am self pay too, wanting to call my dad, at 35 years old and ask for some money......I just couldnt do it!!!! But it all worked out in the end.
As far as your story and the teasing in school, I am so sorry that happened to you. It broke my heart to read that. Unfortunately, I remember being one of the kids who used to tease a girl in school...boy what I would do now to get a hold of her and apologize and by the time I reach high school, my outlook on the teasing was sticking up for the kids who were teased....actually got into a couple of fights because of it. My best wishes to you on the life changing experience....I will be right there with you sister!
