you know what - at least you now know about your son and his attempts to get his Dad's attention. So going away helped open that one up for you to be able to deal with it, rather than it continuing to fester away.
Good for you for not reaching for the wine - it's taking little managable steps like this that wil help us. Yes, you went for the chips, but it could have been a lot worse, and I bet it was pre wls.
Yep - progress not prefection is my mantra - I read it on someones signature and for me it is soooo helpful (especially as I am a perfectionist).
On a Godly note (feel free to take or leave depending on your view point)- sometimes 'we' get backlash after having a weekend like you had. Often I find I get mixed blessings in situations like this. Take heart

Hi Gals!
Okay, so how was everyone's weekend? Mine was a strange mixed blessing sort of couple of days. I went on a Youth Ministry Retreat Friday night through Sat and had a wonderful time that gave me a renewed sense of purpose. I came home Sat to 1 unhappy child and husband( thankfully my almost 3 year old Emily was a oblivious to the boys grouchy attitudes) and realized through tears and arguments that my son feels angry a lot recently at not getting his fathers time or attention. So angry in fact he confessed to stealing and lying the past several months whenever he was mad at us.!! WOW!How did things become such a mess when Im gone for 24 flippin hours??? So I listened alot and gave lots of hugs and went to church yesterday and cried and asked for guidance....and here's the kicker.....I reached for tortilla chips to help me cope. UGH!
I think I am resolved and evolved and sometimes I make the worst choices. I know I could have done worse - in fact, I made a point not to reach for my wine glass and have a drink with the chips. I dont need to add to my problems.
So I am resolved, its a new day, a beautiful day and I feel positive that my family and my eating habits can improve and be happy and productive. To that end I will take some of Andi's advice and marinate and portion control snacks and meals for the day. I LOVE that idea.
Its a crazy life and I am grateful to all of you for STILL being here and helping me and being an inspiration for me to not give up on myself!

Topic: Food - Sunday
Hi Everyone. How has your weekend been? Yay - picking up DH from the airport tonight. He's been away since Tuesday morning. Here is my day ~
Breakfast -
1 cup (1/2 portion) of special K sustain cereal with 2% milk
1 slice toast with peanut butter
Snack -
cup cake - they are all gone now, thankgoodness. They are NOT coming back into the house (mindyou, they are only 150 cals, but are empty calories)
Lunch -
Small Starbucks vanilla latte
Raisin danish
Snack -
grapes - been popping one into my mouth each time I go into the kitchen
Dinner -
will be tuna salad, or tuna on a slice of toast.
I will also have another latte before the day is ended (at the airport)
Back to work tomorrow - have bought a chicken to roast and take to work for lunches with salad. Now if I can keep away from the cookies we have there, I should do better than I have at home.
Hope your weekend was all that you wanted it to be. See you tomorrow....

breakfast: roasted garbanzo beans (whole can or 3.5 points)
Lunch: fast food burger with onions and pickles no bread (4 points)
dinner: toasted light english muffin, pickles and a veggie burger with ketchup and (2) servings of potato chips, not in one sitting but over the course of the evening and 2 cookies and some salad and gardienera carrots
snacks were OUT of control: cookie dough, a few handfuls of fries with lunch
time to get myself back on the band wagon and rock this tool! ANDI

B - 1 cup special k sustain with added protien & 2% milk
S - small apple with spoon of peanut butter - I had another hypo again - no idea why
L - chinese buffet!!!
Not as bad as it sounds - I only had 1/2 cup pork, 1/2 cup rice, 1 small shredded duck pancake and 3 prawn crackers
S - cup cake - those darn things, I'll be glad when they've gone.
D - 1 slice toast with tuna on top.
That's it for today - if I can make myself, I'll have a protein shake tonight, but I'm not counting on it.
Thanks for letting me do this - it has really helped me start thinking about what's going on my mouth and being accountable.

Hi Kathryn welcome back to "on track" it's the place you were before you found the carbs again. We're waiting for you and we'll walk this path with you if and when you need us to. I'm starting back on the path to righteousness tomorrow as i've got a huge shin dig tonight and I'm not sure i want to eat healthy.
What will you do tomorrow to start you on the road to recovery? Here is what i'm going to do: today i'm going to get my fluids in, i've been quite remiss about that and it's starting to show, i'm dehydrating and I feel my thought process starting to go downhill so today that's what i've got on my agenda.
Tomorrow:
1. I'm going to make up snack baggies with all my supplements for the week and I'm going to label them so that I know i've taken that days pills
2. I'm going to get in all of my water/fluids so that my skin will rehydrate and I'll stop looking like a sunk in alien
3. I'm going to bring my breakfast/lunch to work with me and two snacks to boot, when the food isn't in the bag it's either time to go home or time to drink more fluids
4. I started marinating tomorrow nights dinner (chicken with fat free italian dressing) i'm going to roast some broccoli (favorite of mine) and the kids can have corn/rice/pasta it doesn't matter because i'm not having it.
This mornings weight: 143.5
goal for next Saturday 142.5 (i'll take less but we'll see what the week brings)
tell me what you'll do to make you a success?

Breakfast: sauteed vegetables with some parmesan cheese (for some reason this is my favorite food lately)
Snack 1: (4) mini eggs of butterfingers and a mini bag of m&m's
Snack 2: handful of mini pretzels
Lunch: (4) fried dumplings with meat in them (finally some protein Andi)
Snack: (2) hershey's kisses (anyone see the pattern here?)
Dinner: this was the kicker ..... pirate booty because we were running late!
so all in all i know what i need to do and I just have to do it. Which i will but not until tomorrow as today i'm going to my sister in law's surprise party and there will be goody's that i want. ANDI
