there are so many homeschool options, it is overwhelming. first would be to find your philosophy.  if you are a trandtional or an non-traditionalist.

we were looking for a secular curriculmn that had a lot of accountability built in. which almost goes against all the homeschool agenda of combining both religion and education.

we selected the All-in-one curricula of K-12 and at first it is pretty intense, but overall a superior product.  it is a mix of traditional books, online interactive multimedia, and online accountability and testing.

Online resources for homeschooling include courses of study, curricula, educational games, online tests, online tutoring, and occupational training.

yes, I have been fudging myself into stretch pants again, how easily we back slide into old horrible tricks.  I did go out today and had 1 slice of pizza at a birthday party and a TINY 1/2 cup of peach cobbler with a heaping tablespoon of ice cream. however that totally ignores the four receese p'butter cups that I ate through out the day which is my problem. candy calls my name like a siren. I hate it. but it does keep my blood sugar from spikeing, course so would more steak throughout the day. it is my own fault. maybe tomorrow will be better.

I totally understand where you are coming from. I mean if when I was wearing a size 24 jeans someone would have told me I'd fit nicely in a size 9 three years after gastric bypass I would be like.. HELL YEAH, sign me up! WHOOO HOOO SIZE 9...

BUT and a BIG but... after seeing size 2 for a while, a size nine is now not quite as thrilling..

I blame my gain on the pregnancy.. but you know what I had almost lost all that weight, and then regained it.. snacking...

I try to be grateful, and happy, and positive about my health and where I am in life.. and tell myself that hey 30 pounds to loose is nothing compaired to what I have already lost.. and I can do it!

We can do it!!!

We just need that motivation that we had in the begining.. i'm breaking out the meaureing cups, lol!

Today was my first day on a three day kick start diet, and I'm feeling really great, wish me luck, and remember we're in this together :)

I have two in school and one homeschooled. so i am pulling my hair out daily.
i do not even want to talk about finances regarding my adult offspring. it is a point of contention that I just cant deal with today. my weight went up during the stress, I am trying to get it back down. i think a lot of it has to do with dehydration. the diabetes is raging right now, but I do believe that is self inflicted with caffiene intake, so I am making small changes (50/50 blend coffee) and more 'hard' protiens, less 'soft' protiens.

I have RA and it has been in remission since surgery. I took some ibuprofen last year and it tore my pouch up so bad that I puked blood so I do not recommend that. however. I do know that embrel is an injection medication rather than an oral, so I would investigate if you can go with injectable medication to solve the problem.

Hey all...

I have recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I also have some pretty uncomfortable arthritis. My regualre DR gave my some Arthritis meds, but when I went to the arthritis DR (who has been in the bus. for over 30 yrs) told me to stop taking it, that I shouldn't be taking "anything" with my gastric bypass. Now I know its been 6 yrs, but I thought, if I remember correctly, that in the meetings we all had to go through there was mention of "some" that we could take. I could really use something to take the "edge" off some days. I hate to argue with someone who has been in the business for such a long time, but come-on!!!!! I need something for this Pain....

That'd be great - hand in hand to get those last few pounds off.  See you here on Monday.

Now what are you going to do to get that weight moving?  I am cutting out the snacks, joining the tap classes, and must be more active generally.  I'll see how I do the first week and then modify it to suit.  I'm concerned that I have tried for so long, that nothing will change, but I really want it to.  I've got this maintenance down pat (although not deliberately!!!)

Hey Andi

I'm still here!!  School started back this week for us too, whic his great for me as it means I can get back into routine.

We spent a busy summer going here and there - in a tent in torrential rain for one week!!!

I've been thinking about you lately - how is it all going.  Are you fully recovered now and are you glad you had ps done?  What are the results like.

My dd set me a challenge yesterday - to get to my goal by Christmas - that means losing 21 lbs in 16 weeks to reach a 'normal' bmi.  I figure that's doable if I stop snacking like a crazy woman when I get home after work before the evening meal!!!

Plus I'm starting a tap dancing class once a week, so I'm sure to start with you'll hear my gasps for breath all the way over there until I get a bit fitter LOL!!!

hugs, Ruth
