Hi,
Don't feel bad!! I'm in the same boat! I never even got to my goal weight and I have gained back 30 pounds too!! I have so much stress and the Dr. has put me on pills to try to help, but instead of losing weight, which MOST people do with them I gained more!! I contacted my center where they did my surgery and want em to some to seminars for $90 a week!!! Yea right!! I spent enough money on this surgery!!!

you know, I would never have even concieved that I was a food a holic but the stress over the last 2 years had completely done me in.

I have regained 30 lbs past my goal weight, not the lowest weight, we will not even GO THERE.

I have restarted fit day and I brought out the scales and the itty bitty bowls and am recording and evaluating my life style down to the gram.

Calories
975

Fat 58.9 523 55 %
Carbohydrate 81.3 310 32 %
Protein 30.8 121 13 %

I struggled all day with snacking and portions and desparately hated every moment of it.

there is no excuse, not the 3 year old that can not walk as fast or as far, not the bike that doesn't have a trailer hitch, not the hypoglycemia that spins my world without notice, it was SUCH a HARD day. I was tired and angry and frustrated with myself all day. and let me be the first to say that menopause sucks, I am swathed in wool and freezing to death and it is a balmy 49F outside. I am miserable.

Topic: Alli weight loss program
Hi everyone...

As with some of you, I gained a few pounds. I figured I'd try the Alli program. I've been doing it for only 2 days but I'm thinking now, this is a pill that helps get rid of some of the fat that you eat before it is digested. Well, I don't eat a whole lot of fat, So now I'm wondering if this is even going to do anything for me. I've been doing a 1800 cal. diet a day which I have been doing good on, but as far as that pill, I dunno if it is worth even doing. Anyone else try it? Or do you have any other ideas for a weight loss other than counting cal. and is 1800  a day good?
Does anyone know how to do the 5 day pouch test?

curious,

thanks, Izabella

the holidays are a sabotage ... an assault at every turn.  gingerbread cookies are wonderful.  my birthday requires a cake.  everyone starts a party with a desert. gracious. how do people survive? I thought that hanging out with the very slinder Nordic Culture would make it easier, but with cheese and crackers and almond paste goodies, I am not sure I will fit in the airline seat to get back home in January. snacks after snacks after snacks. I am still eating off a saucer, but I am dying to find a scale and see how much damage I have done in the last week.

All in All, I am doing okay, I did not drop 15 lbs, I stayed the same but I did not gain. that is what we tell ourselves. at least  I didnt gain.
I did go through several egg nogs with my coffee in November and December. and here in Norway, I am not able to secure more egg nog, it is a controled substance, and they only sell it at liquor stores, freaks. so 1% milk is my substitute. My goal is 1 serving but that is difficult, I am still pretty hungry periodicially throughout the day, even now, I am resisting the urge to raid the cupboard for 1 slice of goat cheese and one dry crisp bread. to tide me over.
as for my birthday.. yes, the big cake is coming. it is called marzipan (ground almond paste) syltetøy (jam) cake, it is to die for, I had my last one in 2001.

okay, it is here. and it is so yummy in my coffee and I am sure that I am going to gain 10 lbs just from 1 oz in each cup of coffee. Come to think of it, I am sure that next week will be the start of piggie season.  I hate piggy season. I struggled and resisted buying chocolate chips so that I do not make yet another batch of cookies this week, even though they were singing my name down the isle tonight. I did get flour so that I could make dumplings to go in the chicken and dumplings and turkey and dumplings next week.  I really wanted to drop 15 lbs before my birthday next month, I would have needed to drop 2 lbs a week by then and I do not seem to be able to do that, even cutting down the calories, so I have to reve up the exersize and increase the fluids if I am going to make my goal by December 13th of 150 lbs (I am at 165 right now) and I have 4 weeks to go.. OMG how did that happen? that is so stinking quick.. well okay, that is not doable. I would be lucky to break 160 in that amount of time. rats rats rats. I am resolved though to NOT pig out I am overseas for 3 weeks. I promise.

I can not get in my pants... my I had to lay on the bed to zip up my 'fat week' pants.. definately time to cut back on the grazing and snacks..

no more jumping rope, not enough bladder control at my advanced age.

Happy Thursday? One off to school, four still not out of bed.  I woke up at the buttcrack of dawn, decided to get to 'work' before teaching today. fun.

I am probably severely dehydrated but for some reason just can not get the fluids down that I need to, so the weight has creapt up to +20 of my goal which is irritating me.
I did get new vits, I am forcing myself to eat breakfast, last night I had a HORRIBLE glucose reaction, had to have three gulps of OJ and then two cheese sticks to stabilize (blood sugar was 52). I had been grazing during the evening, so had no idea why it plumeted. didnt feel a spike from the dry cereal that I had after dinner (dinner was asparagus and mac-n-cheese and a tossed green salad.

so I jumped jump rope yesterday, that was hysterical, nearly peed my pants it was so hard, PITIFUL, I better stick to bike riding. ;-) we are going camping in two weeks, cub scouts rule.

Topic: RE: medications...
Hi Izabella -
I have FM as well (for 18 years), and I take medications for it. I'm surprised that your doctor would tell you not to take anything. I know that we aren't supposed to take anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen. However, some antidepressants (Cymbalta) can reduce the experience of pain. There are also medications like Lyrica, Gabapentin and Tramadol that can reduce pain. I have taken these medications and not had any problem, though they are associated with weight gain.

I hope this is helpful.

Take care,
Heather
