Don't feel bad!! I'm in the same boat! I never even got to my goal weight and I have gained back 30 pounds too!! I have so much stress and the Dr. has put me on pills to try to help, but instead of losing weight, which MOST people do with them I gained more!! I contacted my center where they did my surgery and want em to some to seminars for $90 a week!!! Yea right!! I spent enough money on this surgery!!!
I have regained 30 lbs past my goal weight, not the lowest weight, we will not even GO THERE.
I have restarted fit day and I brought out the scales and the itty bitty bowls and am recording and evaluating my life style down to the gram.

I struggled all day with snacking and portions and desparately hated every moment of it.
there is no excuse, not the 3 year old that can not walk as fast or as far, not the bike that doesn't have a trailer hitch, not the hypoglycemia that spins my world without notice, it was SUCH a HARD day. I was tired and angry and frustrated with myself all day. and let me be the first to say that menopause sucks, I am swathed in wool and freezing to death and it is a balmy 49F outside. I am miserable.

As with some of you, I gained a few pounds. I figured I'd try the Alli program. I've been doing it for only 2 days but I'm thinking now, this is a pill that helps get rid of some of the fat that you eat before it is digested. Well, I don't eat a whole lot of fat, So now I'm wondering if this is even going to do anything for me. I've been doing a 1800 cal. diet a day which I have been doing good on, but as far as that pill, I dunno if it is worth even doing. Anyone else try it? Or do you have any other ideas for a weight loss other than counting cal. and is 1800 a day good?
Does anyone know how to do the 5 day pouch test?
curious,
thanks, Izabella

I did go through several egg nogs with my coffee in November and December. and here in Norway, I am not able to secure more egg nog, it is a controled substance, and they only sell it at liquor stores, freaks. so 1% milk is my substitute. My goal is 1 serving but that is difficult, I am still pretty hungry periodicially throughout the day, even now, I am resisting the urge to raid the cupboard for 1 slice of goat cheese and one dry crisp bread. to tide me over.
as for my birthday.. yes, the big cake is coming. it is called marzipan (ground almond paste) syltetøy (jam) cake, it is to die for, I had my last one in 2001.

no more jumping rope, not enough bladder control at my advanced age.

I am probably severely dehydrated but for some reason just can not get the fluids down that I need to, so the weight has creapt up to +20 of my goal which is irritating me.
I did get new vits, I am forcing myself to eat breakfast, last night I had a HORRIBLE glucose reaction, had to have three gulps of OJ and then two cheese sticks to stabilize (blood sugar was 52). I had been grazing during the evening, so had no idea why it plumeted. didnt feel a spike from the dry cereal that I had after dinner (dinner was asparagus and mac-n-cheese and a tossed green salad.
so I jumped jump rope yesterday, that was hysterical, nearly peed my pants it was so hard, PITIFUL, I better stick to bike riding. ;-) we are going camping in two weeks, cub scouts rule.

I have FM as well (for 18 years), and I take medications for it. I'm surprised that your doctor would tell you not to take anything. I know that we aren't supposed to take anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen. However, some antidepressants (Cymbalta) can reduce the experience of pain. There are also medications like Lyrica, Gabapentin and Tramadol that can reduce pain. I have taken these medications and not had any problem, though they are associated with weight gain.
I hope this is helpful.
Take care,
Heather
