Good morning all

well yesterday you would never have guessed I was trying to modify my eating and tame the cookie monster.  The one thing I did do that I'm pleased about is that I had a piece of cake after lunch (no not that...keep reading), then later was offerred a cream scone by a collegue and TURNED IT DOWN as I'd had the cake already.  Woohoo for me, as cream scones are my favourite.

Yes, I know, but I'm taking any positive jewel in my days and pumping myself up with them.  It really does help to think over your day and find any positive no matter how small rather than look at the negatives.

Start building with positive bricks instead of negative bricks and you'll soon find you have acommplished something amazing.

See you tomorrow

I also am going to get my fluids in...take my vitamins and bring my lunch to work with me...I have an addiction to eating out.  Even smart choices out are not as good as a home made lunch.

Topic: Choices
Everything is a choice — from how you feel when you wake up in the morning to whether or not you floss your teeth at night. To make the right choices, you need to ask the right questions: What is my true goal, and how are the choices I'm making going to help me achieve that goal?

Morning...

how did we do yesterday with our changes schedule?  I didn't get much cold water in, but drank ho****er & hot tea by the gallon - not sure if that counts or not.  I'd set myself to drinking more cold water.  Oh well.

What changes are you going to make today?

1.  Drink more water
2. Eat less cookies - I've become an absolute cookie monster over the Summer, and while I've been figuring it into the calories, it is NOT a good habit to be in.

Come on guys, if we think we can do it, that's half the battle (in our heads).  Once that is sorted out, the rest will follow much easier.

have a great day and see you tomorrow

My changes are similar to yours...i'm going to get in all my fluids and then my vitamins and i'm going to start every meal with protein so it fills me up.  I have been eating from the garden first which is delicious but not necessarily the best nutrition for me. At the game tonight i'm going to have snack, that is what it is! ANDI

Hi All

for those of us trying to get back or stay on track, what small change are you going to do today to help you?

If you say it out loud (type it here) it helps you achieve it, rather than just thinking / wishing it inside.  So what are you going to do to help you get to where you want to go?  If you are in a car, you ensure you have gas, oil, air in the tyres, road directions, etc.  Losing / maintaining weight is no different, think ahead and you can get there - leave it to chance and who knows, you may or you may not...

1. I am going to get in all my fluids
2.  I have already had my vits, (which I haven't had all summer break!!!!)

hugs to you all, Ruth

Hi Andi

yes yes yes...I am right there with you. We know what to do, it's the doing it that's hard.

BUT, both you and I know that we CAN do it.  I am going to come on here every day, looking for support and willing to give support for you and anyone else who needs it right now.  We were all here for each other in the early days - I find I still need the support to keep on the road.

We are going to think about our meals beforehand, so that we dont' grab something quick and easy.  We are going to be more active if we aren't already and we are going to make small changes that will grow into big changes in our lives.

We are no longer going to give ourselves the left overs - that is no good for us or anyone else.  If we treat ourselves right, then we have the best to give those around us.

OK, I'm off my soap box.  Who is going to join me?  I'll see you on here tomorrow Andi - we can do this together.

hugs, Ruth

Hi Folks! Just wonderiing how everyone is doing? All here is status quo. I have been having some heart palpitations lately so they are running a battery of tests, they'll probably find it is stress related. Anyone finding they are no longer putting themselves first and that's becomming a problem? I serve everyone else first and by the time i sit down it's time to clean up so I eat a little something and keep on goinng but i'm hungry in about a 1/2 hour and I wonder if i've eaten. i SO remember that happening when i was morbidly obese. At some point it became OK for me to not get in all of my fluids and then wonder why i feel icky all day long.  I am leading a more sedentary life and then wondering why my weight is creeping back up, nothing tragic but nothing i'm proud of either. I guess writing this down is helping me be accountable. At some point I have to put the brakes on and say I COME FIRST, but at what point?Anyone else out there having some similar issues or am I alone in this? What's the answer, I know the answer but does anyone have a simpler answer? Hugs, ANDI
