I'm so sorry to hear what you'e been going through :0( But...I am glad you've come back - no need to have your tail between your legs - it should be up and wagging, just like mine is (metaphorically!!) as I am pleased to see you - and others who are coming back too We really do need everyone here - we all have struggles and can help each other through them...give when you can, take/receive when you need to! I know I do

I too have been a way for a good few months and that combined with othere factors has led me to gain nearly 10 lbs and I wasnt at goal yet. I too, am here again looking for inspration and guidance to eat and live the way i know will contribute to my good health. I type this just so you dont think you are alone! I feel that way a lot in this journey which is so personal and hard for those who arent going thru this to truly uunderstand. Hang in there! Are the meds helping now? Have you leveled out? If not they surly will soon. Keep posting and keep your chin up! Kathryn

((((Carla)))) I think you are very brave to be this honest, it is only when we allow things to come into the light that they can then begin to heal. I can't pretend to even begin to understand what you are going through or how you feel. I can however relate to having food control my every action, and how that feels, which was one of the deciding factors for me having wls. As you have heard me say many times before, the journey I am on is one of walking into freedom in many ways, not just physical. Whilst I can see that from the response to Dawn's post this is a problem, I'm not sure that a separate forum is the answer. My concern is that if this is going on with someone, they should seek medical help. Carla, if you are going through this, please get help, this is serious and cannot be ignored. It will not go away by itself and needs addressing medically. Love & hugs...Ruth

Welcome Holly I'm so glad you have jumped aboard our message board (excuse the pun!!) I find it is much easier to get to know and make friends here rather than on the main message board, so I usually just hang around here. Feel free to post on any topic - wls related or not. Most of the time we have a laugh, sometimes we disagree, but we all know we are here to support each other on this journey we are on. Feel free to have a look at my profile to get to know a bit more about me. I've lost 91 pounds so far. Started off at 266 am 5ft 6 tall and my first goal is to lose 100 pounds, then get to a normal bmi weight of 154 pounds. After that who knows I would REALLY love to get to 135 as then I would have lost half my body weight, but if I don't get that far I'm ok with that. I've been a slow loser, but am trying to enjoy the journey and the view along the way. Look forward to having you as a friend Ruth

Hi, my name is Holly, I live in Victoria BC Canada, I had a RnY bypass done May 8, 2006. I have lost 100lbs and have more to lose (about 30) and I think I have stopped losing because while I have done a lot of research and know a lot of info about the surgery and adjustments after, I haven't really connected with a support community. I belonged to my surgeon's group but it was such a bitter place where people felt that they could only fluff others up rather than offer true support and I felt that I had to leave it. Some info on me: I am going to be 51 this December, I have a daughter who is 30 and I am a special needs foster parent to three active boys. I have dogs (sometimes foster for rescue) and I am working on my Master's in counselling psychology. I am 6' tall weighed 321 at my surgery and now weigh around 220 (give or take). I am single and have been forever. So, I hope that there is room on this board for me. I am overwhelmed by the main board, it seems that there is so much going on there, good information maybe not so good for getting to know people. Holly

I don't really think many have that problem, she is 134 which is not really skinny.(except from the perceptive of an "past"over 300lb person) .. most put on weight after 15 to 24 mth... from what I have read only a very few keep loosing... at 5 5" 118 is underweight, at that point I would say worry or rather eat. One guy I chatted with had lost too much , so I told him go eat starches... he did and gained back what he needed to... I share the fear of being fat again.... I hope to never loose that fear... but I don't starve myself. Carla you are a smart/ active person.. you look great.. and know how to maintain a balance...Give yourself the credit you deserve.... personally, I have looked up to you and the things you do....
