you know, funny enough I was thinking about you today and wondering where you were, how you are doing etc.!!
I am still struggling - I haven't gained any, but haven't lost any either. I never reached anywhere near my revised goal of a normal bmi. I'm very dissappointed. I've actually started looking on the revision board and my options there. It's surprising just how many people need a revision as their original surgery wasn't performed adequately. If you are interested, go and have a browse - NOT that I am encouraging you, or trying to lead you into a revision. That is something that every person needs to decide with their doctor for themselves - just like the original wls!!! Just letting you know there are options available if you feel you want to look into them.
Anyway, I've rambled on long enough. It's good to see you again. It's a shame this board has gone quiet, but I guess we are all off doing other things.
I'd love to keep in touch if you'd like to. feel free to contact me directly if you'd like to.
hugs,
we had some damage to the house, but nothing significant. about 20 holes in the vinyl siding where debris was drilled in from the winds. we lost some trees, waited two weeks to get a tree service to come give an estimate, now two more weeks for them to actually get out and do the work.
we were with power for 8 days, so we lost everything in the fridge and both the freezer and the deep freeze. we were prepared, so I cooked up a bunch of cookies with milk and eggs two days before the storm hit, gave the kids lots of munchies during the power outage.
I feel that the economic crisis is a bigger concern... I think that the inconvience that we experienced during post Ike is just a test taste of the hardships that we face in the coming years. I seriously think that this will make the depression look like a cake walk.

Hi everyone... I have seen Ruth trying to keep this board up...with not much luck! I remember starting on this board and wishing how I would have found it long before I had my surgery. Everyone had such nice words and gave you the encouragement I needed..
Well, Now I am not doing so well and maybe I need some encouragement again!! That or I wonder if anybody else is having problems with the dreaded "weight gain"!! I only went back to my surgeon at 6 months after my surgery,I went to my family Dr after that. Does anyone else just go to their family Dr??
I never got to "MY" goal or even at normal weight. Believe me, I am thankful of the weight I did lose, but it never was enough! Does anybidy think that you were just at a weight and wasn't going to go down anymore because your body doesn't think it should go lower!!??
I am actually eating ALLOT now, like whole sandwisches and stuff..never could finish one before. Does anyone think maybe they stretched their pouch???
By the way I have gained...I started at 277..my highest and am floating around the 200 mark again.....203 the highest!!
HELPME!!!!
I know I am just rattling on and should go see my surgeon, but guess I am embarrassed to do so...Anybody else having the same problem??
granted, I came back from 6 weeks of motel food with a 10 lb gain, lost 75% of that, then we had the hurricane and 2 weeks of no electricity and stress eating and I am back up again... so I have been drinking drinking drinking and cutting back on portions, one taco or one crepe or one slice of pizza. but a lot of snacking late at night... so more drinking, less snacking..
last night I cut a piece of my 9 year old son's birthday cake and then opted to put it back, I was not really hungry, so I didnt eat it, and he was fine with that. what I would have traditionally done a couple of years ago, I can not let myself get sucked back into. yes - it is his birthday, no I do not need to eat the cake to join in the party.
