Topic: RE: Deanna - how did the race go?
Hi Ruth! Thank you SOOOO much for asking!
I did it! I did it! I ran the entire 6.2 miles in 1 hour 9 minutes! The last mile I was in tears because I knew I was going to finish and I was just so excited that I actually was accomplishing this goal. I kept thinking how a year ago I wouldn't have been able to walk that course, let alone run it ... and here I was running it! I have never been so proud of myself in my whole life!
The great part about these races is that most everyone is "normal" ... they are of all shapes and sizes and ages. It's refreshing to feel like a normal person in the pack. But it's nice to see that there are "everyday" people out there doing this. I don't know why I waited so long to get involved! I'm going to keep signing up for them because this feeling of accomplishment is amazing! It makes me realize I can do anything I set my mind to!!!
Today my hip flexors and quads hurt so bad but it's a great feeling! I'm still in tears just thinking about it!
I put a picture of me crossing the finish line on my profile.
Thanks so much for asking, Ruth!

Oh my mouth is watering at the thougth of B&J's Creme brulee flavour...we can't get that over here - yet. Maybe that's just as well
I hope you enjoyed it
Topic: RE: Old Habits
I think that my biggest problem is boredom eating. After the kids go to bed and I am on my own and tired... I just eat if I can't think of anything else to do. Popcorn seems to be the trick for me to stay ontrack, If I know that I can eat it, there is something to look forward to and know that I am not deprived of snacks. Tricking myself is not always easy.

I agree it is harder on the weekends.
I had icecream today. Delicious icecream... a kid sized cone but Ben and Jerry's creme brulee flavour.
cottage cheese in the am
coffee with cream
smoked cheddar
icecream cone
latte non fat
5 dry garlic ribs
cinnamon bun just to top the day off...
I didn't even bother with running it through fitday.

Ruth,
I find myself slipping into the old stress eating habits, nighttime and the weekends can be a killer for me. After three months of losing nothing, the scales actually came down three pounds then I went on a week binge it seems and up goes the scales. So now it's making healthy food choices again and fighting my demons.
I have my slip ups now and then and I guess what gets my head back in the game was remembering why I had this surgery... so I could live! I am living.. and losing the last 10 or so pounds isn't going to change a thing!!
Keep your head up!
Diane

It's so much harder on the weekends!!!
B: Roast beef sandwich (yes the whole thing)
S: wasabi peas
L: Salad w/veggies/chicken(1 cup) with some shrimp ****tail (3 oz)
S: Tortilla chips w/ cheese dip...darn football game!
D: 1/2 cup beef stroganoff with another salad w/chicken/veggies
Totals: 1600 cal...150 carbs...47 fat...112 protein
Besides the chips and cheese was a ok day...I hate that ONE bad choice can just blow it for the day...

today has been rather a wasted day eating wise but i've got tomorrow all planned out!
b'fast: 1/4 of a scooped out bagel w/veggie cream cheese, olives and onions
lunch: (4) rounds of eggplant, broccoli and bean sprouts
snack: 1/2 of a brownie (man that was delicious)
dinner: pork loin and i'm not sure what else
i'll have to make myself a protein shake or drink when i have a moment as the protein is pretty low. I wonder why i feel tired and now i know. ANDI

my 2 tortoiseshell have gone! We took them to my friends today - I'm so glad they are with her as I will still get to see them regularly, but boy am I missing them.
Topic: WDY Eat - Sun?
I've had a semi purifying day today and I am feeling sooo much better on it. My body has lost the sluggish feeling I had left over from Saturday eating.
B - nothing (was supposed to have a protein shake but ran out of time before leaving for church!)
L - protein shake
D - 1 slice meat pizza & topping from another slice
S - protein shake
Had loads of fluids inbetween. Might have another protein shake later to up the proein even more for today.

That's a good question - it's all very well saying I'm not going to do it again, but what am I going to do to avoid this happening in the future...
When I have a day where I find I am reacting to the scales, I will have a day of purifying - fluids and protien shakes, and more fluids. I am going to cook up a batch of soup, filled to brimming with goodness, which is what I've been craving, so that I can fill myself with that instead.
Thanks for the question Andi
