Well, I trashed the whole day, so I will try again tomorrow. I ended up eating all the healthy snacks I had AND loads of cookies as well!! Then in the evening it had been such a horrible day I 'rewarded' myself with food - a cinamon danish...sigh
Tomorrow I WILL only eat the food I have planned...

Hi Ruth!
I'm planning out my daily menu. I have protein shakes ready for me too. And I'm sticking with my exercise regime. I have a 5K run on Sunday so I really need to keep going to the gym, even though it's raining buckets out there! But, this is something I can do and I will do!
I'm so glad you can relate! I've been PMSing this week too and when that happens, I feel like I can eat with a bottomless pit. Ugh!
Today is a new day and I've started it right!

Ok, so what strategies are you going to put in place today to help you not keep eating what you shouldn't be?
I've got cheese & ham for lunch and I plan to have a protein shake mid morning. Haven't planned dinner yet, and I need to find a way to stop me keep putting my hand into the cookie tin in the office. I am trying to think of a reward system (like stickers for children) so that I am focussing on the postive things I am doing rather than on the negatives - ie I can't eat that cookie or that bag of chips etc etc. Not sure what yet

(that's what you will be doing next year
)
I'm sooooooooo pleased for you Holly. Finally you have found a doctor who is willing. You must feel on top of the world. Keep us posted nearer the date so we can be thinking of you. Not long to go now...
That is SUCH good news, and really cheered me up.

In 1999 I hurt my right knee, I had had arthritis in the past but this injury really tore up my knee. I had the cartilage repaired but the damage was done. My knee has hurt ever since. Daily grating pain, dull throbbing at night, sharp pains when I bend my knee. My left knee had to bear my weight and it soon became a huge problem also.
I have been trying to get some help for a long time. I have seen orthopedic surgeons off and on since my injury. The last one that I saw told me that there was no reason to fix the latest cartilage damage because my knees were trashed and they would just rip again. He told me that I was too young for knee replacement, that I would have to be at least 60 yrs old to get them replaced. I cried for a couple of days because I had my RnY in order to get my knees working again, not for any other reason.
My GP sent me to another orthopedic surgeon that I found through a friend. My friend had her hip replaced before age 60, so I asked to go and see him to see if I had a chance. I went to see him on Friday in Vancouver and he is willing to do it! I get my left knee done on Jan 8 and my right done on Mar 3...
I am so excited! I feel like crying for joy!
Topic: RE: HIJACK FROM WLS GRAD BOARD RE: CAN'T STOP EATING - PLEASE READ
Thanks Cindy
I found this REALLY helpful. I need to get back in line and follow the rules. I need to remember the attitude I had when I first had wls and I need to remember how I felt before I lost weight. Do I REALLY want to go back to that, because that's where I'm headed if I don't sort this out now...

Oh, thankgoodness for honest friends
I really thought I was on my own in this and that you guys all had this licked.
So now we have all 'come out', and acknowledged there is a problem, what strategies can we put in place to help ourselves?
I have started having protein shakes again as I think my body is craving nutrients. I'll let you know if that makes any difference. Any other ideas we can try out? Maybe planning our food for the day beforehand might help? I know I eat more and grab what's available when I don't have anything planned
